only if you "need" it you need a FAST machine, you've got to keep the motor clean.... do a search on DP alone for Vista Upgrade, there are like 17 threads discussing the merits of upgrading and so forth. most people will say - NO!!! not until the bugs are worked out so while they may eventually migrate they are not doing so now just for the track record with MS and their OS's
well if you still think that XP is enough, why would you spend more money? M$ probably will tell us no longer bug fixed release for XP soon. LOL
I will get Vista when I get a new computer.........in like 3 or 4 years. When I get it, it will be installed on the computer. I'm not going to the store to buy it, thats for sure.
Make a list with pros and cons, and you'll get your own answer. Currently I can't find any reason to mark as "pro", mainly if you use your pc for WORK.
LMAO! Seriously, yes,at least I know people are having problems using iTunes on it. http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20070207/itunes-problems-with-vista/
I wonder - can you write something like it with fewer bugs (I think that we have to respect other people work and don't criticize them without having the skills to do something better) Depend what are you using (I’m totally comforted with it – I have IE7, Visual Studio 2005 Professional, MS Office 2007) and everything is working perfectly. Of course there are some programs which have to be rewritten or patched to be able to work on vista. Although there are fewer drivers for different devices if you are using something new it’s very possible that device to work without external driver (I mean vista was able to found all the drivers I needed and everything works perfectly). The i-Tunes are great problem. Last time when they couldn’t there was threat of destroying Earth, it's verry good that Apple found solution before the big explsion. Although I think it’s not necessary to switch to Vista if you are satisfied with your PC and you are not going to buy new one with already installed (better to take Vista Ultimate than whichever kind of Vista or XP). So in conclusion – if you are going to buy new Vista only – better don’t (better to wait for something like six months and than buy new PC with already installed Vista instead just Vista now). Tiel
There is also very heavy DRC (Digital Rights Certificate) within Vista, meaning that everything has to be licensed 100%.
I dont think this is the correct time for upgradation to Vista wait for another 8-9 months Also you need a super fast Machine to run Vista Smoothly Like AMD Athlon x64 or Intel Duo with 1GiB ram (recommended 2GiB DDR ram) So think before you upgrade
My prediction is that SP1 will be out within 6 months...wait for that...and don't listen to apple, the ipod works fine with vista, I think it is all a marketing scheme...
Many of the performance and time saving increases will been seen quicker in the business environment. If you are a home user, just wait until you get a new computer and it comes loaded with vista. That being said, and as a .NET developer, I can say some of the things you will see from Microsoft in the next year will blow your socks off... Anyone seen the customer sales Kiosks at the North Face stores. They have a 3d online sales marketplace with HD video that will take your breath away. All made possible with the underlying technologies available in the framework on vista.
