Getting listed on dmoz should not be top priority for any project.
Not worth spending $$$ on it either. No way.

I assume your site is www.janesdeals.com

I suggest you remove your meta keywords - they look like spam

You also have spelling errors on the homepage:

And your adsense in the left navigation is all screwed up at least in firefox.

If you have a particular keyword in mind you want to rank for put that and nothing else in your title tag - or that and your company name.

If your business model is so weak that it requires DMOZ links to be successful, you lost the game long before DMOZ let you down.

why are you advertising other wholesale websites on your site?

Isn't it pretty dumb to give your competition advertising space on your website.

Maybe removing the damn adsense ads might be a good start

I feel sorry for you that you think DMOZ are the cause of your misery. I have the feeling that some stupid **shole told you that DMOZ is everything. That is wrong so just stop thinking about it and think forward. One door closed, another one opens.

Why haven`t you been doing research on the web to find out where your strategy went wrong ?

You dont need that meta keywords, you paid $250 an hour for that ? What else did she do ? Stop using her.

Be careful when you hire people in here, there are many wanna bees here that are looking for a quick $. If you are going to hire someone for serious money, get someone in here to tell you about the one that offer their services, get references on them.

Search this forum for stuff about starting a forum. You will find that it often takes a long time and much work.

link from dmoz would not make much of a difference, trust me.
One website I had for a very long time got a link on dmoz, then it lost a link, then it got it again, and during that time I did not observe any changes in its positions.
The website had many more back links, so one link from DMOZ did not make any difference, nor it should make any difference to any serious optimizer.
When you have thousands of backlinks, one link from DMOZ cannot make much of a difference, especially today.

Why don't you give it a try. Just don't start a thread about me ruining your life if it doesn't work out. ;)
