Looking for PROXY HOSTING

I know there are multiple threads on hosts that allow proxies, but what I'm looking for is this.

I'm looking for a host that can offer me a good amount of bandwidth per month (around 200GB-1TB) per month (space doesn't matter as much).

I need the hosts to allow proxies, and ALWAYS allow proxies, whether it be on any package (Shared or VPS) but NOT on a reseller/dedicated.

My budget is around $10-20 per month.

    Any suggestions?

If you are remotely serious about running proxy's get a dedicated server(s) and do it right.

Your budget is not realistic for what you are wanting. You are saying you want unrestriced CPU, and 200G+ B/W a month. You are wanting all the resources of a whole server but only want to pay shared prices - there is no profit in that for anyone. Realistically, if you did get service for your price it would not be very good for very long.

You need to boost your budget and opt for dedicated server because proxy hosting aren't suitable for shared environments as it slows down everyone else sites at the same time.

We use to allow proxy hosting on our vps but it slows down the server performance so we have completely stopped proxy hosting on vps. So, I'd strictly recommend you to opt for a dedicated server.

VPS may work well in the beginning but it's not the solution. As the popularity of your proxy would rise, it would need more resources and you may feel the need to upgrade to a dedicated server later.

A vps would be suitable for awhile, but once the proxy grows you will have to move on.

Trust me I had 2 Vps'S and got so sick of all the downtimes that I sold all my sites and am now moving on to dedicated with brand new sites.

I don't have the inital revenue available to order a dedicated at the moment, and plus have never done so before so I don't know what it's like.

Once I raise enough - I'll go for a dedicated.

Thanks for the tips guys! :)

Also what do you think, PHProxy or CGI?

If you are going on shared or VPS go with PHp because it wont put much burden on the processor, but make sure you have enough bandwidth to cover it.

Kk, say if I were to host say 5 proxies, how much bandwidth would I be looking up to take per month? I was estimating 500GB.

This correct for relatively new proxies?

Don't know about anyone else, but One of my proxys that is 10 days old has already done over 150Gig by itself. It will do around 900-1000G in it's first month alone. Remember, this proxy is not even very popular yet!

Your only allowed 1500GB of bandwidth on LayeredTech, and if what RRWH is saying is true, then I'll need a lot more than that...

If you ask me, in the case of proxy hosting, then i guess the best option for you would be a dedicated server. The reason behind this is proxy services overloads the VPS server and thereafter severely suffers downtime which is a negative impact on your server performance, however a dedicated server is self-sufficient to manage the load efficiently.:)

As you have planned to host your proxy sites on a dedicated server then I'd recommend you to opt for high end dedicated server for better performance and which is definately not going to be cheap.
