What is Google's Main Objecive?

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering and facinated by the rapid growth of Google, as a company. And from the looks of it, Google is spending Millions and millions of dollars a month for the FREE Services that they offer, as well as their Operational Cost. I wonder where they get all those money to fund their expenses?

Come to think of it, all of their Services like the Search Engine, Google Hosted Emails and webpages, Adsense, Google Map, Blogs and many more to come; they all boil down to Information Gathering and Data Management.

Take note almost all Internet Users use Google in their daily lives. I have just come to realize that, we might have already put the records of our whole life in the hands of Google. This includes our Private Informations, like "what is our favorite past time", who our love ones are, and Where we are.

So now I'm just thinking aloud and wondering, what are they going to do with ALL those information and data that they have now?

They will most likely use that information to provide better personalized advertising and services to you. Their main revenue comes from advertising so it's reasonable to expect that they will use it for that.

Nothing is as it seems and nothing is Free. Google makes sht loads of money from advertisement on all free services to end users. And with the information google has, they are so powerful and will be powerful..

Nothing is permanent in this world. Yahoo ruled the Net previously, pushed by Google and it rules now. Tomorrow who knows... There may be a new thing called Dinoogle..(lol).

Now we know how they make their money haha :D

On a more serious note I've actually never known them hold back an adsense payment so they are usually pretty straight down the line on this one.

I'd go with Adwords as to being their largest source of income - you only have to look at every search engine out there now who run PPC ads alongside their natural listings (you are hard pushed to find one that doesn't anymore). A very lucrative business indeed! I remember several years ago PPC ads only appeared down the right hand column and now they also place 2 or 3 above the natural listings... this isn't by chance they know damn well they make shed loads of cash if they can get people to click on them!

I agree with you about the Adsense. I know a certain somebody who's investing around $9,000 per day in PPC.

But, I'm not sure about Google's mark-up on the Adsense. Can it be big enough to fund All of those Free Services?

Yes and those free sites/tools are actually their for their adds and also to attract advertisers.

The information I think is for their research, to further enhance not only the result but to provide free tools/sites where they can put their adds as well.

    Search: Google Revenue
I like this article from CNN
