I have heard it really isn't much different from XP so I'll wait until I get a new computer with it pre-installed.
From what I hear a few of my friends bought it and they say its crap because most of the software they are used to using does not yet work 100% on vista, as well as drivers for hardware. So I'm gonna wait till the first Service Pack then I will most likely buy it, in the meantime I'm gonna be upgrading my PC so I can run vista smoothly.
Because that's how big it is, what else do you think, that they asked the cleaning lady to pick a number? And who cares, 320GB drives are pretty much standard today and cheap too. Now if you had to buy 2GB DD2 RAM... now that would be a different story, but this.... I call that whining.
No, I will not be buying Vista. The only way I will get Vista is if it's the only option on pcs when I go to buy a new one. I didn't even want XP but when I bought a new pc I was forced to get one with XP. I hate and fear change. I just updated SP2 because it made me and no longer supports SP1. That's how much I'm against changing things on my pc lol.
I was really hoping Windows Vista would come with a Shell with all the features that Linux's shell has--this was a rumor I heard and I've been let down =/ It'd be great if we can "kill" applications as oppose to ending task
I don't get it, why the need to go to the command prompt, type in 'kill' and hopefully knowing the name of the application you have to kill, otherwise you have to look that up too, type it in and press enter when all you need to do is Ctrl+Shift+Esc, select process and click End Process. And if you need a kill in bacth job of any kind then there are tons of freeware kill pograms available. Sorry, but unless I'm missing something I find your argument pretty weak.
I use XP on one of my computers but I run Ubuntu Linux on the other ones, and it is a far better OS. Only downside - its a bit of a pain to install programs. This is by design of course, and the reason why I've never had a virus, trojan, spyware etc on my Linux boxes. I also don't need 10 different programs running to keep my OS safe.
still running 2000 Professional lol might upgrade to VISTA... never had any issues with 2000 but hhehehe
