Thanks, Kerunai, but I'm not looking to start a 'war' or anything over it. I think the poster honestly didn't know anything about me and lumped me together with some of the other "hype marketers" online because he saw my name from time to time or something. No worries. -John Reese
I tend to think of online marketers as the new breed of search engine marketers, like Darren Rowse, Neil Patel, Rand Fishkin and guys who are excellent at driving traffic to websites through social media and search engine marketing.
Hi John I know who you are and have for some time. I also followed Mark Joyner, Ken Evoy and others. I've probably been online longer than you...mid 80s... and I read and devour everything, I've tried most everything online such as SFI, 24 hour concierge services, being an ISP, etc. Anyway we are not discussing that part. I did not say you only sold e-books, I also said other fluff. FLUFF = have personally generated millions of dollars from infoproducts, affiliate offers, brokering traffic And mind you there is nothing wrong with this....however in my opinion a lot of it is due to the fact you were an early adopter to the web. Getting in first has its advantages. But does any of that make you the greatest marketer?? I am not sure. As the title of the thread is who is the greatest marketer... and being as I was able to bring you here.... and have you engage in a discussion... then there is a case to be made that perhaps I am the greatest, being as I was able to bring the greatest marketer (you ) here to debunk my post. Things that make you go hmmmm
Hehe. Actually, I've been online since 1980. I used to run a Wildcat BBS in the 80s on 300 baud modems... but that's a story for another day. Anyway, I never claimed I was the greatest online marketer... my post was in response to your post that stated "lol ebook seller" next to my name. And I find it funny that you refer to all that other stuff as 'fluff' when that's the core business model of the Web. Any content publisher (monetized by Adsense, other advertising, or selling their expertist) essentially falls into those revenue models. So I guess Google, Danny Sullivan, eBay, and anyone else online generating revenue is doing it by selling "fluff."
Back on topic for a sec, After purchasing traffic secrets John would also get my vote as well. Can't wait for income.com to open for business - any date planned yet for the grand opening John?
Ohh 300 baud....Could you imagine going back there??? I drooled over 9600 when it hit As for fluff Google definite...Danny no just secrets to selling fluff ebay YES!! lol you have to admit that one at least... I'm into selling lint....not that its any different than fluff... but its my USP.
AuctionFreak -- thank you for the compliment. I sincerely appreciate it. Income.com will most likely launch in late-March. We're still testing the application that manages it all, etc. And everyday it seems like more work to do. ;-) Sem-Advance: I couldn't imagine going back to the 300 baud days. I remember waiting an hour to download like a 100K file and being pissed when someone in the house would 'accidentally' pick up the phone and kill my download when it had a few minutes left to go. Hehe. Ahhhh... those were the days.
Better question, What company is best? HP & Apple come to mind though Apple is poor in paid search and HP poor in SEO
John Or being even more pissed when someone would call and kill the download!! What a long strange trip its been.... Nice to meet you....virtually
Hey John, You get my vote for one of the best. Now how about a discount on a membership to your Reese report
Those who think marketers who sell tons of books are not marketers are probably missing something here. BTW, I have great respect for John (Reese) as well, he definitely knows a lot...(a lot that most people tend to underestimate).
Marketing a book is a little different than marketing a company or brand... being good at one does not make you good at the other
Hello John, Welcome! Just a quick question: Could you please verify that your new USERNAME belongs to THE John Reese ? Cheers
The best online marketer is the ones who dont do jack. It's the ones who are smart enough to broker out offers to people so other people do all of the work and they collect the paychecks
One of the sites in my signature actually showed up top of google for the search term: "Most succesful internet marketing people" and then disappeared after 2 days. Didn't find out until I checked my statcounter and it delivered quite a lot of traffic. Nice glitch in google
John Reese... interesting to see you on here. I chat with a good friend of yours I think from New Zealand.... ML?
