Seems my server goes down way too much, its not managed, so its down until I report it. Takes them forever to fix problems.
Homestead. They hold your domain hostage, and if you want to sell your website, they won't let you. Their email accounts also take like 40 secs to log in.
Ugh. I just got a hostgator server the other day. I had to file a ticket cuz I couldn't create new databases in the accounts. That got fixed pretty quickly, though. www.webcs.com gets my vote as the best I've used. I have a server there too and they are always responsive to problems or stupid questions - of which i have plenty
don't go near MD webhosting! It was my first webhost - and one of my sites is still with them, until I reach the end of my year. I had a time when the server went down for nearly 4 days! And then, when it came back online, there was not even an apology. The week before I had launched a big advertising campaign, and it turned out that most of those dollars were spent sending people to an error page....
lol - with what money?!? I had nothing left to play around with! Would have to say a huge warning to anyone who's thinking about signing up with them though...
Against what many here want to hear I'd say DreamHost. When I'm installing sites for clients I cringe when I see they use DreamHost for their online business. Just horrible.
I have been with dreamhost for a couple of months, and their only downside is the issues with their php server stuff. Not that I am totally defending dreamhost - am sure there are good and bad experiences with all hosts, just that some of them have a lot more bad experiences than others.
I see a lot of people say this but I have logged in 8 to 10 just this month and each one was horrible. Not 1 good experience with them. I install sites 7 days a week and they are at the bottom of the list right alongside 1 and 1.
There seems to be lot of problem with hostgator. I had a bad experience with them as well. They drop my DB 3 times. Luckily I have the back up of the files.
I'd say X1Services right now. All my websites have been down for nearly a week and the guy just dissapears on me when I'm explaining my problem to him on msn And I was planning on going to hostgator (reseller plan). Still can't choose which host I have to go to...
Worst host i used is probabbly godaddy. They are really hard to use. I have switched with hostgator about 6 months ago and they are great! Live support is always on and i never had downtime. I have a reseller and a dedicated server. - Prilep
