Pretty much there is a guy who copied another guys site design, and reckons he didn't... you may or may not know who these people are, but its irrelevant Here are screenshots, but really you need to checkout the 2 sites to compare Check out these two sites: www.proxy99.info www.vip-surf.in Wow, look pretty similar hey? Now look at the code. Notice the: - Same use of css tags - Same order of objects in the css tags - Both use tables - Both aligned with divs - Both use the same tag in the body tag, in the same order - Both don't declare doctype, though all tags end in standard > so you would assume html... except they both use <br /> to make a new line etc.. there are many many more, just look for yourself So what do you reckon? Did proxy99 copy vip-surfin's site? (so you know, vip-surf.in was around first and just became aware of proxy99, so there isn't a possibility that vip-surf.in copied proxy99)
They certainly look very similar in my opinion. Could there be an innocent explanation - they aren't exactly the most professional or unique sites I've seen so could there be a free template download somewhere?
Fishy! www.vip-surf.in Doesn't work..? But from the looks of the screenshot, they look extremely similar. If the codes are exactly the same (or almost) it must definitely be a copy... not an honest mistake (or else the code would have been different)
Yes they are 100 % same well the other one has some banners but otherwise yes? Are you the owner? Can be he same owner
they are definatly similar, but such a simple design could easily be created again and again with-out knowing a similar one exist. however when u look at the source code, its clear to see that its been copied, what is the chance of 2 designs using similar designs both picking the same ids for there css (e.g. #tinput {})
Everything you make is copyrighted, therefore no-one can legally copy it Site is not mine, neither of them are. It is not a free template! and vip-surf.in works for me
Considering they are both DP members, both into proxies, and both know about each others involvements in proxies... they know about the sites Yes though, the source code rules out any doubts about the copying. Just a second opinion would help because the guy denies that he copied at all, and the owner is ofcourse angry at the copying, so it would be good to see what everyone else thinks
It wouldnt have been so bad if he also copied his adsense code and left it up =) but IMO its a definate copy, not sure if he can actually do anything about it either, can css code be copyrighted?
It's not mine, the 2 people involved are arguing about it on a thread here The owner is threatening to contact the host and get it removed The copier denies that he copied at all, and thinks they are dissimilar on many parts (many because of the different colours lol)
The site design wasn't used as inspiration, it was clearly ripped You own copyrights to everything you produce... so I would guess code is copyrighted, if not, then the design sure is... so either way, still is both illegal and immoral
Its exactly the same css tags, with exactly the same names, the chances of two people coming up with that are nill .....
It is. Someone told me once they copied by site (they didn't know I was the owner though f). They were like yeah the site is cool I use it all the time, I made one just like it!
Try proxycroc.com. That's my cousin, he has the old layout. I changed my layout for performance reasons. I phoned Karan265 explaining, and he was using his moms name on everything etc. I phoned him, explained the situation, and that I would take it further if he did not comply. He has now removed the layout, and is complying fully.
This isn't true. Maybe in your head its copyrighted, but until you file paperwork with the government, no legal copyright exists. And unless you fight to protect your copyright, its meaningless anyways
