I installed a detailed reporting script yesterday that displays which and how many adsense ads have been clicked on my site. When I compare these results (18 clicks the last 5 hours) to the actual adsense stats on the google site (2 clicks) I see a pretty big difference. Does anyone know if some clicks are not counted or if the user has to perform some operations on the site that opens before a click counts ? would be really helpful, thanks very much
hi i have added adsense button on my site i have check my site button is working or not but not dispay any click on that report i think may some updation on going so is not display update report shailesh
adsense registered 24 clicks for my site yesterday while my accurate stats script told me it have been more than 50. I´am just wondering if I´am missing something here, like visitors have to at least open one more pages on the other site or be there for at least 10 seconds or.. don´t know I always thought my ad placement was bad because of the few clicks i recieved each day. Thats not the case as i can see now.. Any help would be really appreciated.
To minimize errors, for example different start of the day in different time zones (Google reports are using California time), better wait for data from at least several days. And maybe some scripts are more accurate than others. For instance, although there is not much difference, Google reports more clicks than the script I'm using, probably because Firefox clicks are, in most cases, not detected by the indirect methods those scripts use to infer a click. You know, it is not allowed to modify the ad code or interfere with the ad functioning; only scripts with indirect methods are allowed by Google. Therefore, Google statistics are more reliable.
thanks for the answer, the timedifference and the scripts algo to register clicks could indeed be factors. I will take a deeper look into this. Like you, I would not be worried if I recieved more clicks than my script counted
What script is this? If it's asrep, view verified clicks only. In my asrep stats, it said I clicked on my ads, but I never do...when I went to view verified clicks only, my clicks went from 20 to 0.
Do you use adlinks? Tracking scripts register the first click as a click, but google only counts if the user actaully clicks on an add in the results.
I think you are right. I'm using adlinks only on some pages, but probably the scripts cannot register clicks from the results page (a Google domain) because they need some code in the page source.
Adsense Click Pepper v0.1 is a new third party plugin for Mint. I've seen some posts by users with the same problem, the Pepper counting too many clicks. Well, this plugin is very new, and probably the developer will be improving it.
Is it also possible that your program is counting multiple clicks from 1 person, but AdSense is only counting uniques? I have the same problem; I know some clicks aren't being counted. What can you do? Just get more clicks, I guess.
I think I figured out whats happening. Everytime a firefox user is clicking on one ad the script detects clicks on every unit in that ad. E.g. a linkunit with 4 ads would report 4 clicks in the script although the user only clicked once. hope he fixes this soon
Just as a heads up, it is against the TOS of AdSense to tell anyone your CTR, click count, and/or Page eCPM. You are only allowed to reveal your total earnings and pageviews. Just an FYI to you and everyone else.
I think the clicks made on the link unit is registered in the software. But actually google registers if the ads have been clicked.a
welll ... , can any one tell me how to know who have clicked and how many of them have clicked my ads ? regards
