Question about being a new guy

So a friend of mine explicitly told me to come to the Digital Point forums for "great suggestions and help growing your blog."

Great, he knows what he's talking about so i took his advice. I got here and found out that I can't have a sig for about a week, I can't make links in my posts and I can't even make a thread to ask for my site to be reviewed yet? What gives? I'm not trying to cause issue with the current system in place, but I don't understand how/why the rule is in place that is limiting me currently. I personally feel I could better influence the forum if I were allowed to share bits of my work and suggestions (even if they may include a link.)

Any response is appreciated.

This rule is created to prevent spammers from messing up this great forum. I think one week is not that long to be impatient. Just read around DP first, make posts and make your self comfortable.

 

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured as much, but I found it at least a slight bit stifling. I guess I can wander through the vast forums here at DP. I'll take no issue with that

 

When you've been a member for a month and recieved a million viagra emails you'll be thankfull these measures are in place on the forum, trust me it'll all seem worth it in the end .....

 

I thought is was just me who got all those emails .....
