When you are trying to get the most conversions with affiliate deals how do you build a good pre-sales pitch? I was thinking of using two or three affiliates in the same sector and then doing some sort of editorial piece comparing the services that they all offer and then obviously recommending the higher paying one. This way I have links to all 3 of them so if people should click on the lower paying ones I still have up to say 30 days for them to convert. I dont have a website ready for it just yet so I guess trust could be an issue, but I dont consider this to be a sales page but rather a comparison service like you would see in any computer magazine for example. Do you think this is a good way to do it or should I have separate pages for each affiliate and try a site review or proper sales pitch which I think would sound too obvious? Thanks
The best sales pitch for an affiliate would be something that does not look like a sales pitch at all. Here an editorial would be the best in my opinion. When you write a "review" or a report that could be composed as your own testimonial after using each product, it would help people alot to make up their minds as to which product to buy. So basically in their eyes you are not trying to "sell" them anything, you are just providing information, your own opinion about the product. Another way is to grab their e-mail and build your own opt-in list. That way you can contact your visitors and remind them about yourself without having to go into trouble and expenses of bringing them to your site again and again. You also get a chance to build a long lasting relationship with your visitors that way, build your reputation and trust. Another way to convince people to buy from your affiliate link would be offering bonuces and discounts. If you are able to track people who bought from your link, you can offer them a rebate after certain period of time (after they cannot return the product any more). Most people forget about it when the time comes to claim the rebate, but it is a good insentive for them to buy from them. This approach will look much more like a sale of course compared to a "review". You can test both and see what works better for you. Best regards, astra
Thanks astra, thats some really good advice. It would be good to hear what other people find effective.....or are you all going to keep your best strategies to yourselves
You are very welcome! I just thought of another thing. If you go for a "review" type of sales copy, make sure that you also include some negative points. Just make sure they are not something big, just minor things. Then your readers will know you are sincere and are not trying to brainwash them. If you are comparing two or more products in one review put in some that are not that great or some that you would advise not to go for at all....
The two things that you said are working. You need to test them to see which one works in your market. here is a good example of what is working: Feel free to take that as an example: Landing page
If I had a negative product that could also make me commision as an affiliate should I include the link or just mention it as a passing comment? Some people might not think so badly of it when they visit the site I guess....
Yes, absolutely! Give the links. People have to check things out for themselves. All you do is provide your opinion. You do not make decisions for them.
