What if Google's background was black?

A white background means 74 watt. A black background uses 59 watt.

Google receives around 200.000.000 visitors per day. Lets say every visitor stays for 10 seconds, which makes 550.000 hours.

If G had a black background, we would have 15 watt of electricity. This means 8,3 megawatt/hour energy gain. Or in other words, 3000 megawatt/hour for a year.

With one background change, G would help us save $300k :) Ever thought of this? :)

This would make a great parody Google is evil video. How much pollution is Google's background causing, how much of the rain forest has been destroyed by Google's background :)

lol i could never think of that... nice points. in firefox u can customize your default background, i did it once when i couldnt stand looking at white anymore, hurted my eyes... made it grayish, was less bright in the face. now i know i also economized a lil` :D
