Hi everyone, I'm writing because I need some help with SEO for my website, www.earnbymails.com The website uses a script which is fairly limiting for making changes and I was wondering what would be the best tactic to promote it. My target would be to get traffic both from SEs both from advertisers and potential affiliates. Do you have any tip for me? I was considering to add various informative pages about the various kind of advertising, the industry as a whole, the pro/cons of such programs and anything related to it. Also, I was toying with the idea of developing a few blogs (maybe also with help from my affiliates) which should have to "push" the home site. Is this correct? Should I use a different strategy? TIA.
thanks, that's a basic of Seo I'd say. Just a question.. I'm not much familiar with social networking sites.. how are they good for SEO? What's the point in using them? Thank you.
Nuttin 2 personal K - but a week ago U didn't know what a GoogleBomb is and now we are giving advice/soliciting? hmmmmmm Careful - I have started a series on BAD SEO .... we don't want to get famous for all the WRONG reasons right? ebm - there is SOOOOO much to it that you should read up ( forums wherever) and then start asking some specific questions.. Your cause would be better served....
That's true, but it's very difficult to gather all the good infos around and come up with a good strategy for a n00b. However, at the moment I do have one question: are sites as digg.com or del.icio.us useful for SEO or site promotion? If yes, how? I was also asking myself if it's better to add a blog to my own website or to create external blogs pointing at it.. what would you do? As for Kaylin, she didn't send me direct help, but a contact of one of her friend which should be competent. Still have to talk with her, but it wasn't a really bad idea
I am just protective of my industry ( re; Kailyn) - bad SEo stories hurt us all. As afr as social networking, there is an ever growing segment called 'Social Search' or 'Social Search Optimization'. So, it should compliment your SEARCH ENGINE Optimization.... a new world to be conquered. For noob stuff... there are the books I listed ( and one I wrote - in my Sig). These would be a good read - Search Engine Watch; http://www.searchenginewatch.com/ Wikipedia on SEO; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Search_engine_optimization Reading from Phil Craven; http://www.webworkshop.net/search-engine-optimization-articles.html Mel’s Optimization Guide; http://search-engine-optimization.ecommercehosts.com/SEO-Guide/SEO_guide.htm SEOMOZ Beginners Guide; www.seomoz.org/articles/beginners-guide.doc Search Engine Roundtable; http://www.seroundtable.com/ and jus fer a little 'meme' action, stuff I have written is in my Bio - http://www.the-seo-handbook.com/main/learn-seo/the-author.html Best general method? Read Ask questions (specific) on forums Experiment and track Read Ask more questions ....and so on... rinse and repeat
Your SEO strategy should include content, optimized on-page, and heavy link building through links, articles, and press releases. This is simply the most powerful way to get on top. Another good suggestion is to call an SEO compoany up and pay for their time. You would b eamazed on how much info you could get out of a 1 hour call. Also... Not to bash on you gypsy, but you used "bad seo" as a link... Bad idea unless you wanna start ranking for the term
I want to thank gypsy and smokedog for the useful links and tips. One problem for me is that English is not my first language (as you probably recognized by my previous posts), so I'm always worried when I have to write good articles. One solutions may be hiring a few content writers, but I find most of them quite expensive. The first thing I need to identify are keywords.. what's the correct amount of keywords to optimize for? 4-5? 2? 10?
Hmm.. and what about overall keywords total? I was thinking to optimize the whole website around 4-5 main keywords.. 2 for each of the 2 main topics of my website, with more pages targeted on subkeywords still related to them but containing also the main keyword..
Depends on what you are doing.... If you are selling a ton of different widgets then you will have to cast a larger net. PM me if you want to give specifics. I have dealt with almost every market out there.
