    Hi,

I checked my site today www.bidburglar.com and noticed my page rank had gone up to 5. Obviously pleased as it had been 0 not that long ago.

However, on www.bidburglar.com/index.php my page rank is 0 even though it exactly the same page as www.bidburglar.com.

I no understand...can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks in advance

    DG

Most of your backlinks were .com instead of .com/index.php. That explains the difference :)

Aha, thanks - what do you think is the best to do in regards to this or does it not matter?

Also I'm  by the fact that when I search for backlinks on google using link:www.bidburglar.com no sites come up?

    Why would that be???

Ususally it's better to get links to www.bidburglar.com rather than www.bidburglar.com/index.php. Also I've noticed that bidburglar.com (without www) it's redirecting to your index.php. I thinks it's beter to redirect for www.bidburglar.com

Google only show you a small subset of links to your website. Login to the Google Webmaster Tools, and you'll see all of them (new this week).

Good ol' google. Thanks for the link Cryogenius and thanks for the tip ajsa52, luckily i've been getting links to www.bidburglar.com

What I still don't understand is why www.bidburglar.com/index.php has a different page rank to www.bidburglar.com. They're both the same page!!

They may be the same page, but Google (and other search engines) see them as distinctly different URLs.

Best thing to do is to redirect /index.php to /, and also make sure you consistantly link to / internally and externally.
