Whats the best thing you found by the side of the road?

Yesterday I found a chefs set in a briefcase. Basically it was a professional set and brand new but was missing a few knives.

    Well that's what you get.

    Other stuff I've found:

A white gold alumni ring, stereo TV with remote, nice handmade brass wall art.

Now collecting junk is perhaps an unsavoury subject but it is quite addictive unfortunately. It is easy to turn the most die hard into a willing scavenger and initially these converts need to be well schooled to accept only the highest quality for the penalty is a garage full of crap leading to rapid divorce.

This post is mainly for entertainment but if you're willing to confess to a little scavenging, let us know what you found.

I've found money quite few times. Maximum I found was 100 Rupees (About US$1.5), lots of 10, 20 Rupees and 1, 2 & 5 Rupees coins. Other than money I've found a mobile phone..LOL but I returned it to its owner by finding his home phone number from SIM card. I dont think there's anything else important which I found.

I found $1 before. And then i found a toy bat.

Ok, so I haven't found anything cool. But i DID see the after math of a trucker hitting a herd of deer on a highway.

I laughed the entire way to work. The entire road was red, there were deer guts, ribs, and antlers everywhere, and the trucker was in great condition. Good times!

well i was driving down the one day and i found a nail on the side of the road....well actually my tire found a nail... and gave me a flat... ( was on the side of the road because i got lost and had to call for directions to get to someones house) , that was actually the best thing i found believe it or not... because if i drove a bit farther i would have been part of a huge crash that just happend up the road

one time i was driving and a car tire came rolling down a hill and damn near hit my truck. Maybe some kids messin around in there.

Found a wallet... gave back to rightful owner.

    found license plates.

Dead deer with maggots all in his head (was pretty nasty)

found and old victrola busted in half.

    tv.

    big box of picture frames.

    chrsitmas trees.

    garbage bags.

    .............

but a better scavenger hunt I had once was when we had a dry spell and a local river went much lower and i had my boat on the river and man i cam across everything.

    Multiple fridges.

    an old car engine.

    an old car

multiple tires of every era of the automobile.

    wooden wagon wheel.

    lazy boy recliner.

and all sorts of cool stuff.

Apparently "back in the day" everyone used this river as a road for transporting stuff when it froze over. subsequently many vehicles went through.

thats mostly the junk ive seen :)

I have a tendency to avoid picking up stuff that I see on the road. I don't know who owned it before me, and I'm sure many of you have heard of the Unabomber and how he got his targets...

Put a laptop or TV on the side of the road rigged with a bomb, and someone will try to pick it up in less than 24 hours.............
