Is it worth to purchase vBSEO to make your vBulletin search engine friendly??? It costs so much money to buy a vBSEO license, I wonder whether or not it is worth it? Did you notice an increase of search engine referrals when you installed vBSEO?
Great question. I personally have been debating the same thing. Also, what if the forum is semi established, does it screw up previous links or duplicate content problems?
You won't get any 404 errors or anything or duplicate content penalties. It will just redirect to the new page. The thing is, it's a 3rd party plugin, and once they stop supporting it you will be forced to uninstall it THEN you will get a bunch of 404 pages and lose serps. I'd rather wait until vbulletin comes out with a built in SEO feature that way it's something that will always remain up to date.
I don't know what the point is. The Vbulletin archive feature gets lots of SE traffic on every board I have ever run.
my forums on vb are doing good....but sometimes i think they may do a bit better with vbseo...but just seems like a hassle...at the moment..dont know if the money and trouble is worth it\
consider first the quality of the vbSEo your hiring before takin into action..strategy wise then decision..
Does vBSEO just do mod_rewrites? Because if it does I don't think it's worth the stress it would be putting on the server to change all the dynamic URL's to fixed style. Personally, I don't think that buying any SEO software is good, because if your site is good, and the content is good, search engines will index it.
When I installed VBSEO on V7N, I saw a huge impact on SE referrals. With large forums, it helps to get more pages indexed and ranked.
It may be some thing expensive but it worth that money. It`s not just mod_rewrite way only,it`s big SEO system running your forum carefuly about any mistake can done and very woderful for search engines.
You said that it's aan SEO system. Does that mean it can take care of the meta information as well? I would like to know what it has, but I do NOT want to change my URL structure.
Wow, I never knew this exisited lol, $150 is slightly expensive considering vb costs $85 ( i think) lol im off to a warez site only joking
Yes it cares of the meta as well as you can imagin It makes meta keywords and meta description for each thread consedring of the title and thread content. This example from v7n forums http://www.v7n.com/forums/website-review/43573-arabic-dictionary.html If you see the source you find that About of changing the links, it automaticlly redirect the old links to the new as 301 redirect which is safe redirect. My visitors went to 300-400% after seconds of installing ... my be my site out of the sandbox in that time I can`t sure but most of vbseo users said that. You will be dropped I think for sometime If you running very big forum, but the new indexed pages are stongely to get good postion. And actually I had`t any problems with my 100.000 indexed pages
I'm on the fence myself. The money isn't the issue, but I'm worried about the long term if I either decide to remove it or they stop supporting it. Then what? All the links on my site become worthless?
vBSEO is now enabled on thousands of forums by our customers. Our customer support is top rated, and we continue to make improvements. vBSEO will remain the definitive SEO enhancement for your forum, for as long as you have your forum.
Yeah people need to realize vBSEO is NOT JUST a mod_rewrite script. It does so much more to enhance your SEO and it does it from so many different angles. It's like hiring a team of well experienced SEOs to enhance your forum... seriously. Let me explain to the people talking about "hassle" why that's a backwards argument. 1) vBSEO takes seconds (literally) to install and is already preconfigured. You upload the files, install the plugin in your admincp and refresh your forum homepage to find vBSEO doing it's thing. 2) You actually SAVE hassle as vBSEO fixes your URLs, your META tags, Sitemap, and eliminates duplicate content problems. It would take you HOURS to do all that manually and vBSEO does it in seconds like I said above. It actually does a lot more than that but there's so much I forget Now anyone who knows me on here knows I'm the first one to call BS on people trying to sell me something. So I'll just say this. vBSEO is one of the FEW pieces of software I've bought (I've bought like 5 or 6 licenses) that have been worth every penny every time.
1. If it doesn't work the way I hope it does 2. If VBSEO goes out of business 3. If it in interferes with my need to customize Vbulletin to the point where the cons outweigh the pros 4. SEO changes enough to render VBSEO worthless or less significant 5. Website runs too slow (VBSEO can slow down your site) 6. A better SEO program comes out Those are just a few off the top of my head
