you can even punch the person back ... it won't take away the grudge .... i decided to let everything go and be a happy person ...

as they it takes more muscle to frown than to smile :)

Revenge is always good, if it's done properly. If not, you just look stupid. It helps in a vindictive way, but doesn't really make you feel like "they got what they deserved", you'll eventually feel guilty again.

    It never quite goes away.

By the way, did you watch that documentary on ABC about revenge the other night?

I don't remember where I heard it, but someone once said 'When planning revenge, make sure you did two graves' (one for them, and one for yourself).

I tend to find this is generally the case, revenge normally only makes things worse.

Revenge is never good. It might give you temporary relief but in the long run you'll still feel bad.

Revenge just leads you to lowering yourself to the level of he who has wronged you. Best to just strive to do the best you can for yourself, then the other person doesn't even matter anymore.

i won't pretend to be a saint and say revenge's not good so don't do it and all that stuff. revenge IS good, but only if you do it right. when i take my revenge (quite seldom though), i do it in such a way that the only person who realized i'm taking revenge is the person being revenged upon. other people won't be able to know it.

i'll give you an example. there's this girl (A) who humiliated me quite a few times in public. i decided this isn't gonna work if i just sit around and take it all in like a fool. but i'm not gonna humiliate her like how she did me, because that's gonna make me look dumb. and she's a girl. there's no way i'd win in sympathy votes. :D

what i did, i befriended another girl (B) whom i know is a rival of A. A is just absolutely jealous of, and hates, B (no prize for guessing why). I befriended B, and then introduced B to A's friends whom I am friends with. and say really nice things about B.

revenge taken, problem solved, no one realised. :D

Well getting revenge may satisfy your urge for a payback for someone who has wronged you but it certainly does not make you sleep better at night.

No, as a Christian, revenge is not something I get satisfaction from. I feel more rewarded when I forgive and forget.

When someone have caused me physical or emotional pain, I usually ignore that person. They become invisible for a day, aweek, or until such time that I'm okay from the pain that they've caused. Maybe in a way that's my revenge or my way to lick my wounds. :)

Forgiveness is greater than revenge. The person who has wronged you will himself feel guilty for it. Perhaps not now , maybe in a few years time , he will feel bad about having rubbed you the wrong way. You yourself will also feel better by forgiving him or her. Dont forgive for a better afterlife , forgive for a better cleansed soul in this life says the bhagwad geeta. Forgiveness is even a greater act if one is in a higher position than the one who is wronged.
