Infraction - Thread Bump?

I just got two infractions for letting people know that I have sent all PM's out or thanking for the interest. I think this is getting a bit absurd. I can understand trying to maintain a certain level of quality but is this really how to treat valued members?

The reason is that if you sent out a PM, the person already knows they received it, and why does everyone else need to know you followed up? Sending out a ton of those "thank you" or "PM sent" messages really is bumping.

No one lets you know, no one responds, no one ever gives you a chance to respond. While DPF is a good place, I think the holier than thou attitude is a bit extreme. While that may be the case with some of the fly by night members, certainly with members that bring jobs, oppurtunities and cash to the forum, they should at least be reasonable on that front but I guess it is what it is.

It's pretty simple and is explained numerous places in numerous DP threads.

A "thank you" wastes space on the forum and means zero to everyone else reading it, except perhaps the recipient. It's easy to thank that person privately if you wish, via PM or email or by giving rep.

An "I PM'd you" post is likewise meaningless (he/she knows you PM'd) and wastes space on the forum.

Why does this have to come up again and again and again?

Because people don't read threads like this one and/or the rules...the same is true in the YPN section of DP...go see how many threads are started by saying "When will YPN go public?"

Ok, ok, I get it. Will be more careful in the future. I guess if anything, they should be a warning and not an infraction but that's just my opinion, thank you and feel free to close this thread to prevent bumping :)

another moronic infraction thread. those who start threads about infractions should be given infractions for padding post count.

An infraction is a warning. If not, you are already banned

devin, it was a legitimate question and concern and to call that moronic is not only immature but the very essence of the problem wit people online today, a complete lack of civility. Feel free to remove the post count, I could care less about that but please don't dismiss legitimate concerns from legitimate users.

I agree.......Maybe the members would just like an instant ban.....

Infractions , are just SIMPLE ways of telling you to " CUT THE SHIT " :)
