Hello! I am new to blogging, I have created 2 blogs and want to promote them among other bloggers. What are the best ways, apart from submitting to directories, buy text-ads etc? Thanks, Mike
There are too many ways to promote a web site. It would help more if you tell us what is your blog about.
My personal blog is a blog where I write tips and tutorials about php, mysql, apache and other related technical topics (this is on its own domain). The second is a blog where I review others people websites (this is with wordpress). The third one, is a blog where I post news about a specific topic (this is with blogspot)
A great way to get people to know about your blog is to comment on other blogs and post in forums. Also, using trackbacks as a way to point to other people's content works well. Write something interesting, then let others know about it. Find something original! Something that makes your blog special enough so that visitors will remeber you and subscribe to your feed. Uncommon things are extremely appreciated
You can try guest writing or supply content to other bloggers in exchange for a link in their blogroll
Add blog to directories and add rss feeds. I would also try to get links from other sites as much as you can

create a squidoo lens for tips and tutorials about php, mysql, apache and other related technical topics and make sure that you include at least 5/6 high PR links to the lens. Your blog's link should be among them.
I would first suggest: concentrate on one blog at a time. If you have 2 different blogs, chances are that you won't be focusing enough on either blog. It's better to concentrate on one blog when you are building traffic, when you get more experience... you can try getting another blog in the package. But for now: I'd suggest having just one blog. Second thing: why do you want traffic? Before you've properly answered to that question, getting traffic is pointless. Do you want a massive amount of traffic and earn cents from visitors? Or, do you prefer that have very targeted traffic where the amount is not perhaps huge, but each visitor brings more money? Or is it just a hobby?
