I have got my new ebook coming out soon, and am gathering some information so I can make it even more perfect and useful to buyers. The book is around 20 pages - enough to cover everything without dribbling on about irrelevant material such as the history of search engines. It covers how to onsite optimise a website, link build, select keywords (all with examples) and contains loads of additional resources
I'm sure you'll find lots of people who are interested. I might buy it to review it or so. If it's gonna be 20 pages and you're selling it at a lower price than Aaron Wall's seobook, people who don't think they can afford it might buy yours. Good Luck - Ana
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the book and I think it's great. Ive read Aaron Wall's book and you still have to weed out the non useful info to get to the meat. In this book it goes str8 to the real info!
this stuff usually for beginners, but as long as the quality is good probably people would buy it. But just like SEO, you need to promote your ebook.
Honestly, I'm not that great at marketing. It's my thought that if I work hard enough on my book, and make it really great, it will basically market itself Yes, it will be less than Aaron Walls book. I am thinking $10-$20, what do you think? What price can you put on getting to #1? The site I use in example for the book gets 50-70 uniques a day, a massive 98% are from google. If I had some adsense ads on they would easily make back $10-$20 for a book which would explain how to get to #1. The thing is I want to get money back for all the time and money spent on making the book, but I want it to be well priced so it's affordable for everyone. It's hard to find that balance. I think it has some useful information in it, even for intermediate SEO'ers Oh and also, I was thinking of maybe charging more and giving resale rights (a month or so down the track). So you can give it to your clients for free if you wanted, or make a website and also sell it etc. I'm not sure if that's a good idea though
Well, I think targetting beginners can sell your seo book the best. Advanced ones usually have read popular ebooks, articles, or threads at forums, so you can't expect to sell it to them. If your ebook is for beginners and easy to read with both good content and pictures, that should sell, so the price won't be a big issue. But then you would want to offer at a reasonable price. Selling it a little cheaper to get more to buy it could be good idea. Free newsletter for few chapters of it is also often used marketing strategy. People don't want to pay and then read it because there are lots of ebooks out there. And you know they are junk. Resale right is a good idea too IMO. Give it a try. Are you trying to advertise your ebook on your website? What's the main advertising/marketing resource for your ebook?
Affiliate program Baby... best way to get the word out. You'll be waiting awhile on terms like 'seo book' seo ebook' and so on.. trust me.. I looked into it. So organic traffic could be a ways off. So you'll need an advertising and promotion budget to boot. Get folks to review it on their sites as well if U can (if you dare - always a tense moment) - I have had luck with a few folks....
How would resale work? If I sell it to someone for say $50, they could turn around and sell it for $5 while I'm still trying to sell it for $10. I'm going to put it on my website, and also advertise it on forums and pay for some blog posts. I don't know how to setup an affiliate program, like what scripts to use etc. Maybe someone can help me in exchange for a piece of the pie
I have seen some good affiliate program scripts before, but unfortunately, I don't remember the URLs. I Googled and found some. Many webmasters sell ebooks there. It's kind of competitive, but I think you get result pretty quick.
Thanks If you want a copy, its $7.50 for the next 12 hours. I could sell it for heaps more but I've had some people tell me they want it but $20 is a fair bit of money to them, so I have priced it low
I'd review it for you... To be honest your reputation as a seo has the most to do with whether it will sell. I have an article somewhere on selling a successful e-book(not written by me). I will try and dig that up if your interested. Just noticed your #1 on msn for "seo handbook" and #144 on msn for "seo e-book" and #244 for "seo book on msn. Your coming -
I think even most experts would be interested. After all to stay an expert at SEO you have to continually sift through information.
