I am very glad that I, even from the slums could give entertainment and take somebody away from looking at porn daily. My constant pampering has bear fruit. I appreciate the fact that someone envies my looks and dangler, Thanks. I know that life is not fair that some were born BIG and some were born SMALL. Whatever "Shortcomings" someone has, its not the end of the world. At least my recommendations to stay away from porn and shift to wholesome entertainment like Mike Myers and Spy Who Shagged Me is much better than picking up sex tips by looking on ILLEGAL PORN sites and defending it or in cases like how to increase your visibility and shortcomings. Mini Me would be a better character than Lolita I assure. Envy is not the answer. If you need more wholesome family recommendations just post it. Its nice to know that finally your staying out of porn and have shifted your interest to general entertainment. More power to you. Viva el Forum !!!
Hi Marx. I know of several editors who’s application got rejected more times than that. It is a matter of finding what mistakes were made according to the guidelines and correcting them. That is part of the process. So good luck if you decide to try again .
Taking more than a year to approve your listing is unacceptable, regardless of everything else. They are too busy adding their own or their friends sites. Nepotism at it's most appalling.
Wow, i've never seen that statement before. I would really like to see any evidence you may have before you make such a blanketing statement.
I go down the line reading the site descriptions. If I find one that is well written and follows the category guidelines then I click on its edit button to review it. If I finish those in the unreviewed queue that meet these guidelines then I go to the top of the queue and go in order down the list until I got tired of rewriting the site(s)'s descriptions and doing all the work the webmaster should have done when he submitted the site for review. Why don't I spend more than 8-20 hours per week editing? You get burnt out after a while so you look for something else to entertain you. I guess if every site description was well written and every site submitted to the correct category I would spend more time editing. Frankly the recent crash is the best thing that happened to DMOZ. It eliminated the long queue of unreviewed in every category. Now editors can go out into the internet and search for sites to review without feeling guilty about the sites sitting in unreviewed that they should be reviewing. Want a quick tip on how to get your site reviewed rapidly? Take the time to read the category descriptions to determine where your site should be submitted. Then take the time to write a good site description that is not stuffed with keywords or parabola. Such an exceptional submission will catch the editor’s eye and quickly be reviewed. It may not be added as it must meet those category guidelines but it will be reviewed.
May be because DMOZ is just one directory among hundred other directories that is submitted to by a poor Indian guy who is getting $5 to submit to 200 directories.
I think he also owns a Search Engine Optimization business and an unskinned directory that he promotes endlessly.
Yup. It's generally the obvious that every one overlooks or tries to hide. Of course if I was a click through editor it wouldn't be obvious to me as I would have never bothered reading or correcting the descriptions. Or moving the sites over to the proper category so another editor must spend his/her time reviewing the site that I just finished reviewing but could not list because it was submitted to the wrong category. I would simply have accepted them where submitted, as written, and then moved on to the next submission to click and accept it, building my numbers to the tens of thousands and become a Meta Editor. Anybody that has spend any time editing realizes the problem created by sites submitted to the wrong category or poorly written descriptions due to the waste of editor time correcting the problem. But then some Meta Editors don't spend that much time actually editing to achieve their positions. Hope this is not too obvious for you.
