How successful are you with SBI sites? What kind of work is done by the system (eg SE submissions and SEO-ing) and what kind is done by yourself (eg content writing)?

I have a site build it site.

It is very young though so I am not sure if I am the best judge of how successful the system is.

The main things it does for you are...

    search engine submission

    checks for on-page optimization factors

aggregates a lot of info for you

aggregates different tools for keyword research - word tracker, yahoo kw tool, and google api.

    it tracks you stats

sets people with relevant websites up for link exchanges

It's up to you to do all the content writing and link building.

    Hope that helps.

Feel free to ask any specific questions that you may have.

O and by the way, this is my first post. So hello everyone!:)

Yeah it is going pretty well. It is my first site and having all the hold your hand kind of tools has proved to be very helpful.

I think it is a very good option for any beginner.

As far as how helpful it would be to someone who already is savvy with seo and web development. You can do the same things with other tools. For a lot cheaper. If you know how to.

So after my year is up I will probably move to a different host. Simply because I feel I have enough experience now to do it on my own without the aggregation of all the tools and info.

    Hi All,

    This is my first post!

I have an SBI site but it's only 3 months old so take this with a grain of salt.

I love it! I am not a web expert and as a beginner, they have walked me through the entire process. Three months in, I have a site with 35+ pages and building more every day. I'll soon be monetizing.

I understand from the forums there that there are plenty of experienced webmasters who use SBI (you can upload your own html) and who are very satisfied with it. I also understand there are some things which people find frustrating - can't add a forum, no php... However, most experienced site owners seem to have several sites, with SBI part of the mix.

I can't think of a better way to ease into building a content site, although plenty of people report doing well with their stores, affilitate sites etc.

The forums are also extremely helpful, especially if you're a beginner and would normally be shy about posting what you think are 'silly' questions...

    Hope this helps.

Site Build It (SiteSell) is running a good promotion right now. For $100 extra you get 2 SiteSell packages instead of just 1.

I had SBI for a year. It is definitely a good learning ground. Lots of good free stuff and it teaches you a lot.
However, you are limited to a single web site for the price that you pay. Many Internet Marketers use more than one site so if that is your plan, SBI is not the best choice. In that case, it would be better to learn as much as you can from this and other IM forums (there is a lot of good free IM info out there). Then sign up with a web host that allows true multiple domains. Then get an easy to use web site building program like XSitePro that has a lot of great features for the Internet Marketer. And Do It Yourself!

SBI will definitely hold your hand longer and help you learn a lot but I prefer the other method that I outlined above.

    Good luck!
