no backlink, no pages, new site, never registered before, got PR3 - why ?

well I registered a domain which I never used, becuase I was developing it at the backend, today not sure why I checked it and it had PR 3 - it has never been linked from any site ever or I have never told anyone about this, it does not have any pages, there were only 2 lines written on it, one was a link to one of my other websites..

any idea how google giving pagerank, this seems to be strange, the domain is http://www.swishmax-templates.com

edit - a few minutes ago after checking its pagerank, I added it to one of my other swish related website becuase am planning to launch it in next couple of weeks.

 

Now this is what I call a real mystery. I just checked every request in google and it has NOTHING. Yet PR is still 3.

maybe it has some old PR left from a previous owner?

That's really weird. The site is not even indexed buy google. I have no idea why this could gain a PR3. But the site is already indexed in yahoo. I don't think that's enough to gain PR3 though.

 

Maybe google likes the domain name or the clean, simple and fast loading template.

 

Possibly that's because you are from the Moon?

 

well yahoo does have 1 indexed page of your site

maybe G had your site info already.... just not listed yet

Google does not necessarily show all your links on search results or backlinks. It is likely that you have some links already!

OK - we have noticed that there are many websites got pagerank updated even though they do not have much backlinks, but still.. and also noticed high pagerank domains are PR 3-4-5 now...so...

the question arises IS THERE ANY ERROR OCCURED in the pagerank data centers, that is causing these kind of issues ?

from my experience you can get PR 5 easily if you linked form a PR 6 from a relevent site, one of my website got PR 5 on prevoius update becuase it was linked from the relevent site of PR 6..

as far as this domain..the facts.

- this was never registered before by anyone, and when I got it had PR 0.
- I never made any page for this site. it has 1 page with 2 lines, first line stating "under construction" and the second line had link to my other website from day 1.
- I never submitted this to any search engine because it was never developed.
- never linked from any of my websites

so still I got PR 3 - lol - its funny to see data,

the following link shows its PR3 on many data centers

but this one states it is PR 0 - haaa

anyone with any information ? this seems interesting to find out...

 

Shows up as a PR3 on my toolbar.
If you don't like the PR, I can have it.

 

I have seen this before as well! This is one of the reason why call call "google is broken".

 

I would say the Google was quite generous in the recent pr update and Google wanted to make us happy!!

well some of you are not getting to the actual point of thread I dont care about the pagerank since its useless for me, the important is to know why this happend, is google broken for real or what could be the reaons..

 

I can't exactly say what is happening but I would like to share how one of my site got PR3

I included a site to my directory in a relevant category (Which has no PR at that time) - In this recent update, that particular category got PR4 and the URL listed there, got PR3. The page had nothing on it except for

"Under Construction - Please visit back soon"
