First off, great post and some great ideas in there.

Question though: How much did your income drop when you had to remove the images next to the adsense ads?

Because looking at your diagram the little circles are undoubtedly images.

Are you still making this or did it drop off after you made the switch?

I'm actually overseas on a 3 week surfing holiday - that's the beautiful things about making money of the internet, you keep earning while your holidaying! Anyway I won't actually be able to make a consdiered response to your thread until I get more time when I'm back home, but I'll try to get around to it later.

Yes - I have commented a number of times on these forusm already about the situation about images - I have mentioned it a few times in this thread as well. The images next to my ads are generic circles and are "unrelated" to the ads themselves therefore they are not a breach of the AdSense TOS - I have spoken at length about in previous posts.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words!

Ok, so that figure you're making weekly is no longer (if it was previously before) tied to images next to adsense, which up until a month or so ago were allowed. That's all I was trying to see, if that number 3,200 a week was gained back when you had images next to your adsense units.

Wishing is the first step, but it is not enough.

I'm sure you have more than a few good ideas, that, if materialised in a quality product or service can bring you even more than that in terms of income, but simply dreaming won't get you anywhere, you have to invest time, efforts and patience into making your dreams come through.

Making money is not easy, yet it is definately achievable,

My hat's off to you, Burta, for giving us all a great education -- and encouragement -- with plenty of "nuts and bolts" tips we can use to improve our AdSense earnings.

A couple of questions for you: how much difference has implementing h1 and h2 tags been for you, in terms of attracting more targeted traffic? I don't have them currently on my site, and was wondering whether it was worth it go back through all my pages and add them.

Also: What, in your opinion, is the best approach to building backlinks to a site? I've approached it by asking other siteowners with sites that are relevant to my niche/content category to link to me, and to my surprise many of them have said yes, which has been a big help to me. Have you done that, or have you found that after a while, others link to your site on their own b/c it's useful, helpful, etc.?

    Thanks!

Nice post. I intend on making a similar post in about a year when I go from my $.35 daily to $100 daily. If you build it, they will come!!
