As many of you will know, stats programs are a great indication of letting us lots of different information regarding the people who visit out website(s). Through most stats programs your can determine your most accessed URLs (or in the case of our directories, most accessed categories). NOTE: Exclude submit.php / captcha.php / admin pages etc. Ive based mine on my Voisd Webmaster Directory and that results were rather interesting: 1st (a highest number of visits) Web Design and Development > Web Templates (subcat) 2nd Directories (root cat) 3rd Directories > General (subcat) 4th SEO > Blogs (subcat) 5th Directories > Niche (subcat) That are you most popular top 5 categories on your directory? I'm kinda predicting that for general directories the categories for 'Directories' are probably the most popular... or am i wrong?
my top 5 is directories > paid directory directories> general directory directories> niche directory "D
It's more of an indication to me of where you're promoting your directory and your target audience, than anything else. Seeing that your directory is a niche directory, your popular categories are not surprising. If the most popular categories in a general directory are narrowly focused, it might be an indication that the owner should consider diversifying their marketing efforts.
These categories are must... 1. Travel 2. Insurance 3. Health 4. Internet (Directories,Internet,Hosting,SEO) 5. Shopping (jewelry,furniture,gifts)
Web Directory upper left side are most popular: popular categories second row right side last browsed: last browsed categories
Taking a look at our stats I'm seeing the following as our top categories at eWebPages.org: Home & Garden Web Directories Business Health Internet The web directories category is seeing a number of referrals from the traffic to the DirectoryContest.com Contest page, so I imagine that will decrease once the contest is over.
Congratz on #1 Anywho, I don't see your directory slowing down no time soon, but only getting better. It's one of my top favorites, and I would like to see it on top within the next few updates.
