What is reputation?

Simply Reputation is what it would be in real life, the better of the reputation the more some people may trust you, however the main point of reputation is to provide you with information about what people think about certain things you post. Reputation should be worry you and unless your a fool you are very unlikly to get red.

How can I see how much reputation points I have?

There is two main ways of checking how much rep points you have. The first if graphical, each set of reputation points forms a block, for example I have 4 green blocks right below where it says my post count. However you can keep track of the number of points you have within your Control panel. For example if you look at the your control panel here at Digitalpoint, along from where it says "Latest Reputation Recived" it states the number of points. In this image it is 86 points.

How can I see who left me reputation points

This gets asked alot, and unless the person who posted your reputation point puts his name in the comments you can't. The best bet is to just relax and not worry about it, even if you think the reputation is not deserved. If you post a topic complaining about it, it is likly some of the moody people here will give you even more red rep. Remember rep is just generally for you, and a few red reps won't hurt you in any way.

Can I see all the comments I have ever got?

Sorry no. For some reason the reputation system only allows for you to see the last 5 rep points that you have got. This may suck, and you can't check your history to see what people have said about certain posts, but you never know, if you ask for it to be raised it might happen one day. Untill then if you want to keep your history I would copy and paste it into something like Dreamweaver or Notepad.

WHY AM I IN THE RED?

Well doing all caps never helps, no stop shouting at me and let me explain. When you first join Digitalpoint you start of with 10 points, now if you post topics well, in a good clean format and don't spam your site or break any of the other rules it is unlikly that you will ever see red rep, however if your rep points go below 0 you will no longer see green blocks under your post count, insted you should welcome the color, red! The only way to get green again is to get your reputation points to go above 0. Untill then expect for some people to be a bit nasty!

Who do I contact to get this rep removed?

No one. Simply no one really cares about them enough. Bugging moderators just won't work (they don't have the power to) and bugging Shawn, the owner of Digitalpoint will just make him blank you, think how many PMs and Emails he gets a day from people saying how they did not deserve this rep. Once again, rep really don't matter, unless you get lots of reds, in which I doubt they where all undeserved.

Ok, grey means what?

Gray is simple, think green as good, red as bad and gray as something that don't effect you. You get gray for two reasons, A) someone who has not got enough posts reps you and B) someone in the 'general' area reps you. Gray does not effect your rep images and should be taken as a pinch of salt.

How can I give someone reputation?

Hang around the side streets and drunk lots, and speak so that no one can understand you.

Ah, well that is slighty different. First make sure the post deserves the reputation, if not just relax and click along, if it does click the little scales and then choose if you like or hate the post and comment. As shown in the image below



What is the block green box scale?

0 - 99 remains in ----------- 1 blob
On completion of 100 Points - 2 blob
On completion of 200 Points - 3 blobs
On completion of 300 Points - 4 blobs
On completion of 400 Points - 5 blobs
On completion of 500 Points - 6 blobs
On completion of 700 Points - 7 blobs
On completion of 900 Points - 8 blobs
On completion of 1100 Points - 9 blobs
On completion of 1300 Points - 10 blobs

What does YART mean when I post a topic?

YART was something thought up by a now-inactive member SoapBath, SoapBath created this to mean "Yet another reputation Topic". It was created to show that people kept posting the same topics, another main user of YART was yfs1.

However you can still compare, for example I have a bigger one than Smyrl.

Regarding 1 -ve Rep thing posted it does not mean its just 1 -ve rep point, it counts equally as green rep and depends on power of the repper, like devin who is a rep. power god.If he "blanks me" i would be doomed (more than -5 points will be awarded) but than again wacko would shoot a greenie to balance it i suppose or i not play or ever think of trying out, nintendo wi-wi (bi bi or w/e its called).

^^ dunno if someone posted that point here but its a long thread would take me about say another 100 decades to finish reading it or unless someone knows a great trick for searching for same point. (i.e if ever someone posted the thing i just posted above in this thread).

He will get -5 points if repped in any section other than GC/Intro

 

Then you got it wrong, he would have 1+3 ie 4 points rep power.

 

Hii, I need some help please.

There's a guy who has been continuously giving me red reps just because I rebuffed his criticism in one of my threads. Though he hasn't written down his name/id in the rep comment I'm sure he is the same person because evrytime he gives me red 5 points go down from my rep.

Isn't this a sort of abuse...because that person has a lot of green rep, he's an old DP member with 11,000+ posts. He can just go on giving me red rep till my rep points go negative, and it wouldn't really affect him coz he's got a good collection of those green blobs.

Isn't there a setup here where I can report him? I'm 99.9% sure its him
