I know.. That was the joke. Personally, I like this link better. http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am16 It has some interesting foot notes, and historical facts. Amazing that it took nearly 4 years to ratify this Amendment. And several states did not join in the ratification. It's an interesting bit of history, which includes mention of the case law that likely brought about the Amendment.
about 2 cents of income tax goes towards any services supplied to the citizens... it is all to pay off the national debt to the private bankers who control the Federal Reserve. All those services are paid for through local and state taxes. and someone mentioned NH... so here... give this a read http://www.prisonplanet.net/articles/january2007/250107Brown.htm
Sounds unlikely. 2 cents multiplied with 200 millions(rough estimate of people that pays the tax) is 4 million dollars. enough to fund like perhaps 50-300 yearly jobs in the public sector.
This story is actually kinda funny: How can a constitutional amendment undermine the constitution? When an amendment is passed, it is part of the constitution. Weird. Its in article 1 section 8. 16th just expanded what the congress can tax. Repeal the 16th - great. But its stupid to argue that you don't have to pay the taxes.
