For several years, I have been publishing a news and history web site, for which I write and create my own content. Now, much larger online publication approached me with an offer of "sindication," which means that they would pick and re-publish selected articles from the site, and also channel them to their other partners. I am promised to benefit from increased traffic, however I am wondering if this would constitute "content duplication" in Google's eyes, which would bring down my PR?
I wouldn't worry about it - it's not really any different to submitting your articles to a directory, which nearly everyone thinks is a good thing.
I keep getting different opinions about this duplicate content thing. I am told that it is ok since other aspects of your site will be different, I am told that google will place you in the secondary listings if you have duplicate content, I am told that it's ok if you change at least 25% of the article. Does anybody have anything definate on this, that can be back up in any method? Thanks, ezgoing8
I don't think it'll be a problem for you while you are the author of the articles, ask them to linkback to your for every articles, even if google found duplicate content and that will be poised to them only and not for you..
If you get a backlink it wont be a problem. If you have a bigger traffic from that network than from google it's also good.
OK, I assume, if the content is properly credited and linked back, it is "legal." Everybody thank you for comments.
