Is Divorce rate higher for Internet Savvy people?

Many feel that divorce rate higher for Internet Savvy people with following valid reasons

    1) Chat rooms and sites which reunite friends make it easier for unhappy husbands or wives to meet other people and possibly go on to have an affair.
    2) They work long hours (even at home) without giving enough time for family affairs.

What is opinion about it? Do you think it can be true?

Marriage is about 3C's - communication, commitment, compromise.

Earlier we had an office timings some 9 - 6 and rest of the time was reserved for families. Now websites such as MySpace, Friendster, LiveJournal, Xanga, Xuqa, and Facebook are reputed to occupy users for periods in excess of 5 hours. These 5 hours belonged to family and it creates communication scarcity.

"Your old friend is not happy as you are, lets reunite" - theme is a dangerous theme and internet is offering all platforms to reunite.

I am not married and I spend a lot of time with my stupid computer. Do you think you are getting Internet addicted? How many hours do you surf internet unofficially?

Id say yes and no for me.

No I dont go to chat rooms and meet people.

But yes it does put a strain on a marraige (mine atleast) because of all the work I do sitting in front of a computer and not with my family. There needs to be a balace but I havent found it yet.

What gets me is that the less time I spend working the less money I make and the less my wife gets to spend which makes my wife more upset. But the more time I work the more money I make and the more my wife is upset because of the lack of time I spend with her.

    It depends on the person

Using the internet doesn't have much to do with anything

Drinking, smoking, reading... they are 3 off the top of my head

Also those who chat on msn & chatlines, using myspace etc., not just webmasters

Like anything, you have to find the right balance of time to spend on everything

Nope it isn't any diffrent then any other situation when you work and don't give atention

Right now i'm not in any relationship but when i was engaged my fiante didn't let me spend all the time with her becouse of my need to finish projects etc ... so i gues and it must not be a problem ....

I have and will always have some great friends on internet ..... but no cheating becouse theres one thing or must be : Love

    Just my opinion

    Regards

It is not about chatting, it is about spending time on Internet. I know people who are working on various projects (some for fame, some for money, some as hobby,..) and they do not care about time and other relationships and gradually it starts showing an effect on the family life and sometimes the things go beyond control (you can call it a divorce).
