With all these challenges bursting forth from all corners, I couldn't resist the urge to join in! In the past, I have not really focused on listbuilding or email marketing, but I feel like now (being a new year and all) is a good time to branch out my business. After all, "The Money Is In The List", right? So I've just started a new blog and will be documenting my listbuilding efforts over the coming weeks. It's a new list, so I'm starting right from the beginning (<50 subscribers). If anyone wants to follow along, you can do so here: http://BardenMedia.com/blog There's no opt-in required, and I'll be going into as much detail as I can about everything that's going on. I hope this will be a learning experience for us all, and I hope I can grow a list that will bring AWeber to it's knees! In a good way Does anyone have any advice for what makes a real killer squeeze page? I'm very tempted to start testing audio...
Sqeeze page goals or tips: 1.Offer something they want for free in exchange for them signing up. 2. Brand your yourself, include picture and name. 3. Don't ask for more than an email and name 4. No annoying sound or music 5. Pictures or colors that attract attention with/out being hideous 6. Read here also: http://johnguanzon.blogspot.com/2007/01/use-traffic-exchanges-how-about.html
Visited your blog. What's your main content for the blog? I saw squeeze pages, make money, hello world. Do you accept any content in your blog?
John - great tips, thanks. I definitely won't use autoplaying sound, it's one of my pet hates on webpages. I liked your post on bookmarking splashpages. I hadn't considered using traffic exchanges, as I don't really have the time to sit and surf for hours on end. Have you had much success with TEs? hhheng - I'm not accepting content right now. I'm writing about my list building challenge, but will probably include other stuff as I go along.
Huge success with TE's but you have to pick the right ones. I suggest going here to learn the right way to use TE's: www.hitexchange101.com The reason why we have so many people posting about how traffic exchanges didn't work for them is because one, they probably didn't use (decent) splashpages and two they where to lazy to commit to a little surfing now and a then. Also there are great co-ops or credit purchases that are inexpensive that saves you time if surfing isn't your thing.
