I have started a football forum and have had a few users join but not many so i am giving away the new England shirt that is released on 6/2/2007. Do you think this will work and bring more users to the forum???

It's a nice prize specially for England supporters. This prize should definetly bring more people to register on your forum...people like prizes. But you have to advertise your site a bit. Just offering a prize won't make people register on your forum if they dont KNOW about your prize. All in all it's a good ideea.

yes, I do believe it is a good idea, but as iul has said, people wont register because without proper advertising they won't know about the prize.

But, it's a good publicity idea. Now just work with the advertising aspect.

Find the largest UK football forums and do some smart and sneaky promotion.

IE contribute a bit in the most popular area of the forums and slip in a line about the new kit and that you noticed another forum you found is giving it away etc.

Be real careful about how you go about it, you don't want people to think you're the owner of the forum. :)

Or if they allow signature links, just contribute to the regular discussion and in your signature put: Win the New England Kit and link it to your forum/the promotion.

If the moderators aren't b@stards, you should do very well with that.

Not being funny mate but you should really look at your forum and say to yourself would I join it.

Its a standard template on free forum software, on the front page its confusing what to do and on the forum page itself there are links not working, IE your main logo.

Try and customise it some, make it look good and people will come.

Add seperate forums for each premiership team, get rid of the junk threads that have nothing to do with football apart from a general chat.

On your front page sort out your google adds, atleast try and blend them in abit.

The way it is now, even if you offered a Rolls Royce as a prize you will find it hard, its doesnt look tidy.

I think the cheapest way is to hire some part time workers to spread cards or sheets with your website information in University, high school, young man living area, etc.

@DomainKing: What sort of advertising should i do??

@GADOOD: I have done some sneaky posting in one football forum but it has not worked yet.

@Asprin: The forum was customised however i have had to change it at the minute because one of the forum posters was complaining that it was loading too slow.
