As the topic sais, I wonder how Stumble Upon works. I have searched the forums and google, but still don't get it. So here is my question: Does stumble upon work like a Auto Surf program? The more I surf with it, the more visitors I will get in return, or do I get more visitors for adding pages to the database, or how does it work? Thanks, Kalle
There are some stumble exchange threads and stumble exchange websites. Basically, you give other people a thumbs up and in return, you get the same for your site.
The best you can do is use it A LOT, and make a lot of high profile SU friends. I use it a moderate amount, and as a result get ~1,000 visitors per day from it to my site (in sig). But I have a lot of heavy SU "friends". A SU exchange won't get you nearly this many visitors, as most of those users are just casual or only thumb-up other exchangers. Anita
Ok so, use it a lot, and make a lot of SU friends. Where do I find SU users to make friends with? Kalle
After you've submitted and/or reviewed 100 or so sites (not just thumbed up), start sending messages to anyone who has similar interests (click on their user name then message). Review them, tell them you did, then tell them you added them as a friend. They'll usually do the same. SU is a fun time killer, but only works if you use it. Otherwise you'll get a bunch of untargeted traffic that you really don't want. BTW - what type of site are you trying to promote? In the end, SU may not even be the best avenue.
I have done this and now have an audience of over 3300 SU members and it's growing daily. I think it's great! Trust me on this. Add me as a friend and you will see what I mean. Col
BTW - just commented on your blog. Would love to know more about how you saw such a huge increase in visitors so quickly (I get ~5,000 visitors a day on my blog, but it certainly didn't happen that quick). I'd be happy to share more about SU with you, as well as my methods for getting to 5,000. Best, Anita
