You only have the ability to understand your own kind, don't overstretch your mind.

really? why do you say that? I think I understand that there are people of the same religion who live in the same country who want to kill each other. However, I do not understand why.

Apparently we've started outsourcing to the UK for the position of "Village Idiot".

Notice the thread was on track until AGS starts spewing nonsense and whiner-babble.

Bottom line, Kerry's a douche. He speaks, and retarded things come out. He's neither a patriot or a good citizen.

I'm weary of the hand-wringers and crybabies pissing and moaning about our involvement in the Middle East. Notice none of the blithering poster-wavers have ever SERVED, they've never run for office, they've not contributed anything to society.

It's SO easy to point fingers and regurgitate slogans and rhetoric from the safety of your parents' basement, or some other country. Do yourself a favor and go outside. Get some sunlight. Better yet, make a difference, since you're so concerned.

Don't come calling us when you need us - We'll be too busy "annihilating" some defenseless peaceful country. :rolleyes

Almost as hard as figuring out how a certain country once had brother pitted against brother in a civil war?

All I have to say is "just imagine", what could have been if not for the swifties and all the others and of course for lurch putting his ferragamo loafers deep in his mouth again.

P>S> I wonder if this makes the nightly news.

is like that like all the people who think we to invade and occupy all these countries and that war is the best solution, but have no intention of joining any armed service or making any sarifices to the cause?

Are you heading overseas soon AZhitman?

Usually it's conservatives that tend to serve our country. You don't expect a sudden surge in "kos kids" and whiney liberals rushing off to serve their country do you? I mean, you haven't served, right ferret?

What was it you said about your own freedoms?

I served ferret. What have you served?

    Not the case at all.

Why is it that people who support our actions abroad are painted with the broad brush of "thinking war is the best solution"?

That's typical emotionally-charged rhetoric, which solves nothing.

I certainly don't believe war to be "the best solution", but I think it beats any alternative the opposition has come up with.

And, since you're so interested in making me out to be the hypocrite here, the answer is no.

Although I was highly recruited out of college, scored in the 99th percentile on my ASVAB and 99th percentile on the OQT, I simply couldn't pass the physical. I had real issues with that, as it's not like I would have been slogging through the mud with a rifle anyway (but I digress). Dad served 22 years, and several of the rest of the family is military....so I'm no stranger to the sacrifices our servicemen and women make.

yeah being in military doesn't interest me, maybe if you got me when I was 18

plus lots of family and friends joined the military and none of them made it seem that alluring,

I guess there is that allure of being part of team and country etc, now that there is war going on. But still look how that war is going, its seems like a terrible waste to get your body mangled by IED for those people over there. I mean you only have one body, they can't give you a new one.

How about the people who signed up after 911 to get bin laden and now are partoling Bagdad, like a bait and switch, "yeah instead of going after the people who did 911, you will be securing oil platforms"

There are no people who signed up to get bin laden. You don't sign up for a specific mission. One signs up to serve their country. They put their country above theirself. Serving something grander than their own self-interests.

Not clowning you, ferret, because you seem to be an honest guy.

Lots of folks say, "Eh, that's not the life for me." And that's fine, some people aren't cut out for military duty. But, you have to at least respect the sacrifice of those who DO serve so that you can have the freedom to say, "Eh, that's not for me."

My buddies had the exact opposite experience, BTW. A lot of us had just finished HS when the first Gulf War started... several of my buddies had JUST enlisted, and they said, "Dang, I didn't think we were gonna go to war!"

They were scared and confused, not looking to "kill" people. They came home heroes (to those of us who knew what they gave up).

I was asking how many Iraqi lives equates to 1 US life. An american life is worth alot more right?

    3000 US = 500,000 Iraqi

    Is that about right?

Didn't you once say you didn't give a crap about Iraqis, US soldiers, your own soldiers or virtually anything else? Seems like the only people you don't complain about are those actually killing everyone...terrorists. What a surprise!
