LOL BOTW also as some strange listings with this word. http://botw.org/nsearch/penis One of my favorites is this one http://www.penis-enlargement-surgery-facts.org located at http://botw.org/top/Health/Men's_Health/Procedures/Penis_Enlargement/ Directory integrity at is best, only quality sites…. Some even have nice popups (http://www.penis-enlargement-dr.com/) LOL
I would imagine keeping a PR7 rank is hard. It would make sense why some sites are dropping high PR. I would assume that those sites were once on high PR pages as new listings, and when they get pushed back to other lower PR pages they lose PR. For example, about seven months ago I was featured on SpikeTV and was on the front page of a high PR news site which transferred PR to a particular webpage within one of my sites. After the article was replaced with other news, the PR for that particular page dropped a little. So I would think the same applies to other high PR directories. I think that PR5 and PR6 sites last longer since for the past 4 years all of my sites have remained PR5 - PR6 and never fallen.
Why would linking to adult sites matter? Botw, Dmoz, Yahoo etc all have adult categories do they have less integrity also?
Really depends on the quality of the sites, and where they are listed on the directory. Would you like to have your health site on the same page as a MFA “enlarge your penis†site.
Yes they have less integrity. Pedophiles are a negative value and that does not stand for the word. Mostly adult sites are crap that have affiliate pages and doorway pages.
http://www.thisisouryear.com/ from 7 to 6. Google lost its mind! It must change its Algo and become very strict on PR value. I do agree PR is not that important compared with other factors,
With searches instantly you can find a lot of adult crap sites. Also the devalue might came from accepted sites which are of no quality. Quality and not quantity is what makes it to the top. You can Ask? the bigies here.
Thats true i assumed Jayde had separated the adult from the non adult my bad Pretty big generalization to assume all adult sites attract pedophiles 99.999999% of adult webmasters are as anti pedophilia as anyone else.
The value of PR only stands for link quantity, not quality, not trust, or relevance. You can have low link quantity, but very high quality and highly relevant so have high rankings, PR is only a part of the equation for the ranking.
As I said in my first post regarding this, when you lose links your pr will drop, it has nothing to do with google changing their algo. I know that thisisouryear use to have quite a few links from a pr 8 site, they no longer have those links. And from what I can tell they will probly drop even father on the next update if they do not fix things like this http://www.greatnexus.com/tag/utw/ which is just one of the google backlinks they have pointing to their site. You can not expect to maintain any kind of pr when you just let your links go. Do you think that google is just going to give high pr because people think you have a great site. Another example would be alivedirectory which before this update had 20,500 google backlinks, that number has now dropped to 13,000, although I do not think that it is a big enough drop to lower the site to 6 but you never know. I have even dropped in backlinks, but the ones I let go I let go because I have found better links and more of them for the same price so it only makes since to do that, google does not care if you have high pr they just want to see how long you are willing to hold on to those links, once you let them go they are more than glad to make you pay for it by dropping your pr. That's all there is to it.
Well, I think there are still strong directories like Romow, Alive, Aviva, Index-it etc so dont worry about PR game Saad
I occasionally check to see if directories I have submitted to have listed my site(s) or are continuing to list my sites. I was happy to see that my family-friendly crafting directory was among another directories top hit getting sites - that was until I noticed every other top link was for body enlargements or hot girls. Yeah, that was worth my time and would perhaps explain a hit I got for a phrase including exotic women. - Would have been fun to see that guy's face when he got my site. I think it's one thing to link to adult sites - it's another entirely to link to sites that sell lotions, potions and pills that might as well be water or sugar. None of those snake oil salesmen should be found on a quality directory and do you honestly think a site that spams perhaps a million forum email accounts with a giant penis is one that should ever be a part of a quality directory. Perhaps those directory owners who keep accepting what must surely qualify as bad neighborhoods should keep on doing what they are doing - it might cull the herd.
Wow !! You mean only 1% of adult webmasters includes matured women and men ? No boys or girls ? That is kind of unbelievable. I think you haven't seen the best yet that we fought against DMOZ in last years thread started by dvduval. @banless Very nice analysis. @YMC Its also very dissapointing after linking to those directories and get hits you start to get spam mails for enlargements and other craps like you said.
Hmm, yes, you are right. Maybe it's ok Yahoo does not have such a thing. Moreover, as I stated in another post, PR is only useful when buying or selling links. Google never considered, but, by using the PR, in fact, it poisoned the Internet...
Aviva droped as well from 7 to 6 but sure, it's a very good web directory, as well as Alive, respecting 100% the idea of a classical web directory.
Well i can tell you this.... Aviva is a promoting machine.... Alive is a link building monster...... To me thats the difference between the PR ranking that was given this update. Most directories when they reach a certain point feel confident that their directories PR is safe and dont purchase as many links as they did before and google looks at this and re-evaluates every Update. Alive is buying links everyday and building ALL his sites while most off these others dont... ask yourself whens the last time that octopedia, thisisntmyyear,or any other that dropped bought a link or submitted to your directories? Yea thats what i thought...... thx malcolm
