I do believe that this is my thread, Minstrel. And I have not once used Alexa as a selling point.

 

You asked a question. I answered it. Why do you have a problem with that?

 

The question was where I have brought up the Alexa rank for Frog Engine and no answer has been given.

 

Why belabor the point with quibbling? I showed you where the issue was raised and by whom. The fact that it WAS raised made it an issue. That's why people have responded to the issue.

 

This thread is not about Alexa, it´s about the site I´m selling. And if I don´t use Alexa as a selling point, then what is the point of discussing it?

 

Seriously why are people hijacking threads? If you have a problem with the OP bring it up in PM, you have wasted about 2 pages of this thread squabbaling. Minster and Amit if you have questions PM the poor guy and stop harrasing him in HIS thread if he want to post stats than he can and it will probably lead to people bidding, if he WANTS to be secrative and do things via PM thats up to him.

If he says his site is worth 8-10k that his idea, he is not forcing you to pay him that, its what he asked for it, people can make offers to him, but to come into someones thread and ridicule them and accuse them of cheating is DEFINATLY not cool.

 

Read the thread. I didn't hijack the thread. If anyone did, it was the person who first raised the issue of Alexa rankings. I'm simply responding to an issue that he raised... and one that probably would have been dead several posts ago if Blogmaster hadn't continued to revive it.

 

He was agreeing with you Minstrel. Show us where he used Alexa as a selling point. It would have been a dead issue if you hadn't responded to someone who obviously doesn't know what he/she is talking about. If you feel the need to educate every newbie, send them a PM.

It seems you have a habit of entering conversations with the intention of debating issues that aren't relavent to the thread.

I don't know if you have some personal need to state the obvious, then state it again, and again, but it gets kind of annoying.

We all know Alexa is useless for the most part... we all know DMOZ is a corrupt directory... etc. Is there really a need to say it again?

And by the way, you just took this thread even further off topic.

 

The point is you sometimes overstate the obvious. I wasn't blaming anyone for anything amitpatel.

You guys can manipulate it any way you like. Just let the man sell his site... in peace.

I am a bit naive but why is there so much interest I guess an established Brand creates the interest

The Brand is Frog Engine

Maybe there is more value in the Brand than the Directory
(and there is already a lot of value in the directory)

If I had that sort of money I would be interested in making a bid, I think you are right about the brand value, I think its a great domain and brand, can see it being styled with a new modern logo, it could be very catchy!

My issue is as follows... there was a member saying that it had a nice Alexa. I saw that as just a passing comment - no big deal - something that won't negatively effect Blogmasters sale. However when a senior member posts this kinda of crap:

Who gives a rats ass and Amitpatel of all people should know that and be a little more careful when choosing his words. Yes blogmaster needs to provide stats, granted - so interested parties should PM him! I thought I read he didn't want to make that information public.

You know as well as I know that many of the people who reply in sale threads have no interest in buying the said site and are there asking questions about a site for curiosity sake and with no clear intention to buy.
