Promote an autoblog?

    Hello!
I have just started an autoblog for fun, and would like to know how I should promote it.

And if I want to rank high in searchengines, how do I target a keyword? Is that possible, or should I just concentrate at getting many inlinks?

    Thanks,
    Kalle :)

Ranking well in search engines for an auto blog will be extremely difficult since there are so many good ones out there already. You should stick to posting your link to related forums and the likes for the beginning, that should give you a good start with traffic.

    Forget about it.

You won't succeed due to duplicate content.

I think you underestimate the power of splogs (spam blogs).

Jon makes thousands a month from just ripping off other webmasters with his blogs (cos he's making money by syndicating their content).

    LOL

I have tens of thousands of hits flowing from 100% automated blogs. I've installed a few thousand in the last 6 months and have many customers here that can verify the traffic does exist. If someone needed a million hits from hands free blogs I could deliver, easily.

That being said if you are grabbing feeds from around the internet you won't usually see great results. These usually get you banned from the places that send immediate traffic and knock out a lot of your quick backlinks.

I remember using a service a while back called BlogMad.net - That should help you get some traffic.

So let me know the way to earn money from an auto blog. I guess you can not sell links easily. Putting adsense can be a problem too if you can not do that in the correct way. I guess selling traffic is only possible if you have a huge network with high pageranks. Am i missing sth?

I liken Spogs or blogs on autopilot as cheating. Eventually there will be a crackdown, Google is likely not keen on them, at least on regards to PR. As a blogger who takes the time to write their own content, I regard other "bloggers" who do this as looking for a free ride, not creators of Splogs not blogs. Any serious bloggers will view this in low regard. So excercize caution:eek:

    Affiliates.
    Popups.

splog content is usually pretty crappy and unhelpful anyways, so you're supposed to milk a visitor for all their worth (money-wise).

    btw, splogs are dumb.

Google is fine with them and your so called "crackdown" is just silly. Mass produced content sites have been around forever, they of course moved to blogs when those became popular. You can take your time to write content all day and I can create 1000 blogs in that time that all get traffic from the word go. Do you think I care what your opinion is or if you think I'm not a "serious blogger"? You are right, I'm not a serious blogger, I am a serious webmaster that is here to make money like the other 99% of people on this forum.

My splogs are very smart. In fact my splogs combined IQ is 10% higher than the average webmasters. ;)

Google makes money so they are OK with them, on the other hand their so called, "crackdown" is not my point of you view but rather one they (Google) has mentioned as an annoyance. But will they do anything about it? Likely no. But they may take it into account with regards to Page rank and such.

No I don't think you care what my opinion is, but I have a right to state my opinion. Your agressive stance smacks of ego, and your defensive posturing is amusing. But you should not have to infer that I may be the 1% that dosen't want to make money. I just happen to agree with many bloggers that splogs are dumb. There is no reason to get so touchy though.

"I <3 U sir. Sometimes I feel lost on this board of "webmasters"."
I have to agree with you on this.

Hmmm..you are right, they shouldnt have to care what I think, or my opinion.
Spam, splogs they are of the same pedigree. I dont have to like them though:rolleyes: I think its a rip off, and
its ripping other webmasters off, to make some easy green.
