Hi, Yes I can get it for £26GBP at this URL: https://upgradeweb.moduslink.com/Vis...aspx?oem=&Lang= Cheap, not like PC world which is charging over the top just for a disk in a box. Tell me if your going to buy it or not? - Nick
That's a sound decision. Never buy major software at the first release - always wait until after a few months of consumer testing and the first service pack. It may well be cheaper in a few months after the novelty has died down.
I would prefer to wait for some months to get some reviews about it . Also , XP isnt giving any prob so I dont feel the need to switch to vista
I'm holding off getting a new laptop til they come with it by default Although I think most things you buy now come with an upgrade later.
I won't be buying vista anytime soon. I'm happily running 2000, XP and Ubuntu boxes for the time being. BTW, shouldn't this thread be in General Chat?
I think XP ist still doin great for me but i wouldn't mind a bit of a 3d look on my desktop But i also need some reviews first before i decide...
Also I doubt that my soundcard will be compatible with Vista. It's an old 5.1 philips soundcard. Even difficult to find drivers on the philips website for it.
Like many others here, I will wait until the first service pack before switching to Vista. Really no need to hurry. I'm still satisfied with XP.
I will be keeping XP which runs office 2007 fine (office 2007 is excellent !). To be honest I dont need to upgrade XP.
no way, never in vista, MS can shut down a program is the company splits with MS and it'll never work on your box
Mac and Linux users don't need to. They have been enjoying MS's "innovations" long before MS introduces any in their new OS's.
We have received vista with our MSDN / Action pack subscriptions. Unfortunatelly the release version seems even slower then the last RC ... I think everyone will be waiting for the first SP before doing anything major.
No I will not be buying it but I am certain it will come with my next PC. In other words, I will not be buying it separately but I will be getting a copy eventually. PS: I know the cost for Vista is included as part of the computer's cost so it is not really free
