Ok I recently sold a Digital item on Ebay, and the payments went via Paypal, I got the payment fine, and everything about the payment seems fine, The transfer of one of the two domains went went through fine, and the user had FTP details to get the files, however since then he seems not to be replying to my emails and I am worried either something has happened to him or my emails are not getting to him, he has other contact information for me, however has not used it, I can't afford to refund him, and he has already had access to what he brought, but it is not fully done as the next step needs his actions, I have no idea what to do! I am fine with holding the product untill he gets back to me, but I need to know something incase he comes out of the blue and files something with Paypal againts me. I traced emails, he has not read them. He has 1 out the 2 parts of the item, so in turn what do people reccomend?

If he got what he paid for, there's nothing further you need to do.

if he isn't responding, just put it on hold and wait until he responds. if he doesn't respond within 15 days, drop the case and consider it his loss.

FS, we are not talking small sums here, the amount of the item was near $750!

I would send him an email using the Ebay system with a CC to myself and then let the message that appears in your in box at Ebay sit there and retain the copy that comes to your home computer.

Then I would just hold onto the items until you hear from the buyer. Any number of things might have happened.

In the event he does try to chargeback the purchase you have some evidence that you have done all that you possibly can do.

    Good luck

Heh, that is a small sum. If we were talking $10,000+, it'd be a different case, but as I expected, that's not the case. Anything <$1000 is still pretty small.

Anything over $500 I like to use Escrow.Com. You might consider that option in future transactions. It protects both buyer and seller from problems like this.

Hi, whats your house number fsmedia, I might just come and find 1000 laying around eh? Heh. But yeah, it is still worrying, thanks for comments so far. I have started collecting logs for everything. Mia, trust me I would love to not use Paypal, after-all I lost $40 in paypal fees, but most people don't have escrow.

You don't have to "have escrow". You just sign up and enter together in the transaction. You are going to pay fees with Escrow as well, but the buyer typically pays thouse.

Either way, when you enter into any kind of transaction, there is always the risk of getting screwed. That's just part of doing business.
