Did paypal just start askign for an expanded use number when you add a credit card. This is the first time I have run into it. Now I must wait 4 days for the CC to be verified by the expanded use number.

I'm not sure if this is new service from paypal :) but yes they do ask 4 digit PIN code when you add credit card. Virtual credits cards give facility to get this PIN code instantly but I'm not sure about real credit cards. I think you can ask your bank after 1 day. right?

It said it should be on my online statement in about 2-4 days, or if you dont have an online account you can wait for your hardcopy that comes every month.

It's a 4 digit PIN code bascially used to verify that you own the card and is not illegal or stolen/hacked.

@ IFire Yes it says but you should check, it is not must that it take 2-4 days. It can appear on your statement (online account) prior to the timeframe they mentioned.

I actually think this should be a way to verify the account and not just by a bank account.

I've got my Paypal account years ago and they were already doing the Expander Use Number for as far as I remember. Maybe it was not implemented in all countries they support at that time.
