I have being doing alright with adsense and my hosting affiliate. I was curious what else was out there. I know some big one but I was hoping you might share which affiliates you were currently happy with or some of your old favorites.

I'm using moreniche ( see sig ) for two years and they are amazing! awesome support and friendly webmaster community. And a lot of features that other affiliate sites don't have, like weekly new articles, free booking of designers who make you a website etc.

Also the products and payouts are great. Try it out.

I've been with Worldniche and Leading Edge Cash for a few months now (while sticking with MoreNiche, too) and I've been extremely impressed with everything about both programs: great commissions, incredible support and timely payments. My payments have doubled in the past three months due to the excellent guidance provided by the support staff. Couldn't be happier :D

My favorite for 2006 was XSitePro. They have a great sales page, support staff, and the product is reasonably priced, powerful, and easy to sell.

I have started using CPM programs just a few days ago. Of them, I have been most impressed by ValueClick and CPX Interactive.

CJ is good as a BIG site for everyone, however if you look for individual affiliate programs, then MoreNiche is the best for me.

It just seems so unlikely to me. I guess since all I am used to is adsense. Well I am gonna give it a go. Give me all of your pointers. :)

Forgive me for what might be a silly question, but can I show both AdSense ads and affiliate links on the same site? I don't remember seeing anything on the AdSense TOS specifically prohibiting this, but just wanted to be sure.

Yep you can, you just can't use other contextual ads that look similar to adsense with adsense. So as long as you links arn't contextual, your fine. And if they are but they look different, your fine too. Basically your fine. :)
