Till when I found the right affiliate, which is giving me what I want and need, I think that about few thousand dollars. But it wasn't all lost, some stuff is paying off right now with affiliate I use.
Initially, I lost about $100, but regained that amount quickly. The lessons were good. I got more careful and read lots of good stuff. DP is one of those good experiences to me.
I've spent $8.00 for a domain, and $6.00 for a years worth of hosting. Other than that I've spent money that I've made.
This is my honest story lol I'm a 14 year old boy. I started with $0 online. My parents are pushing for me to focus on schooling and getting good grades instead of "internet bullshit". I tried really hard to find someone with a CC or a Debit Card. I found a friend with a debit card. After a lot of pushing, and asking, I finally convinced him to buy me a prepaid visa gift card (with full cc numbers and everything). He bought it from simon.com/giftcard for me. It had $20. Then, for the first time, I was doing surveys/cc offers. At quizpoints.com, I was signing up with offers like mad, and then cancelling them. At the same time I was doing a lot of free surveys. I went through a lot, including losing my CC to some phishers. But I learned to call the CC company, and have them reverse the charges. And I was surprised that not only did they do that, they even reversed some ebay/paypal charges. lol So basically, I earned $1.95 (because paypal sent me that amount to my account) After doing surveys, and even moola.com, I was sent a $10 abercrombie gift card. I used that as proof to my parents that you "can" get free stuff online. I continued to get a $50 payout from quizpoints, then eventually a $25 payout. I did surveys, and got a $14 check from moola.com By this time, my parents were finally convinced and they helpped open a bank account. so spendable money that I had, was only $50 in paypal. dont ask about the math, I had to transfer stuff. I was super conservative. A good friend that I met online helpped by buying me a domain name, for which he made money from reffering me. I set up an arcade site and eventually got daily visitors and sold it. The amount of money I've lost so far is $1.95, buying "1000 unique traffic." They never delivered, and by the time they were planning to, my site was gone already. So anyways. I've lost $1.95. That's it.
Losing money is a part of earning money. I have lost over $300. You can't always gain but you have to lose money too. You learn from your mistakes.
I havent really lost enough for it to effect my profits. The only loss I have had (if its concidered a loss) is not updating my sites enough so that my hits didn't dive right in the ground.
You have done some amazing stuff, kid. I think you will do well in the near future, but I agree that you should finish your school first. Depending on your major, you can earn way more than you do online.
I decided to be more focused on school too. Being majoring in business i have many opportunities in my career but i also don't live in illision that diploma will guarantee me a financial success. Thats why self education and professionalism ,in my opinion, are very important.
I think I lost more than $500 on "online" investments before the Internet made any kind of impact. Lately the only online loses were a few domains that I didn't do anything with. I'm about to buy some link directory software so we'll see what happens there. The great thing about the net is just how much you can do for a small investment and upkeep of that business. For the first while when I started doing boat sales I put money into monthly print advertising. If you want to see how much money you can lose give it a shot. I still can't get over what it costs to get print advertising for what turns out to be a few calls a month. Then there's all the costs associated with having to take calls, etc. Trying an online only business is a great way for people to learn and learn very affordably.
i came on net empty handed so for me its nothing to loose. I started of making money from a paid posting forum and later by helping people in tech support. And guess all were happy with my work. The thing is lost was Time but was worth for some cash. And woola its my 100th post in DP
