Hi everyone. I have been tasked with building a definitive list of categories for www.squidlinks.com since a massive update is happening very soon. The categories I have so far, are detailed below. Do you have any suggestions, additions etc? Due to the nature of the site there are no sub-categories (although this may be added in a future update). The urls will be like "www.squidlinks.com/Categories/FoodAndDrink.aspx", what's better FoodAndDrink, FoodDrink or Food-Drink? Thanks for any help. Advertising & Marketing Business & Finance Cars & Motorcycles Computers Directories Food & Drink Gadgets & Technology Gaming Gardening & Outdoors Health & Beauty Internet Jokes & Humour Lifestyle Music & Entertainment News & Media Pets & Animals Poetry & Literature Real Estate & Property Shopping Sport & Leisure Strange & Weird Travel & Tourism
ummmm ( SEO By The SEO Kit ) needs to be added. JK No really though it looks pretty good, I have several directories and those are a good start. You can also have a option on most systems where it allows your users to suggest cats and sub cats. Just a IDEA!
Feel free to submit - besides it is free Although the comparison with standard directories is a valid one, the sites aim is to help people discover new places to visit by displaying an immediate range of squidlinks. This is one of the reasons why sub-categories are not present and why I posted here since it is more to do with marketing (need to define a range of categories that encompass all sites/blogs etc). Any views please?
I don't think this is a standard category list. Cars & Motorcycles, Jokes and Huamor shall not be a category at the top level. You can visit DMOZ or Global Tsee Directory for category structure.
Sorry I wasn't being particularily clear. My site is not a standard directory, not even sure it should be classed as a directory. I need a definitive list of categories to encompass everything since there are no sub-categories. If you look at my site you'll understand why. Thanks.
