Hello, I have a blog. For each blog post pages, i have one link pointing to itself but i need one more link used as a "link to us" code. I guess having two links on the same page pointing to page itself can be considered unnatural for a search engine. I want to make one of these links "nofollow". (the link-to-us links) Do you think having a link "nofollow" decreases the value of the page linked or "nofollow" is just used to not following the links by the search engines and is not counted as a bad vote.
I would not worry about that, the spiders are not going jump back and forth on the same page they will look for other links to follow and ignore the ones that point to themself.
In addition to above, I don't think having no follow links on your pages decrease "the page" value or something...
true, it will not decrease the page's value. But tactical implementation of no follow can be very helpful also. NO FOLLOW on your website and webpages can be used to shape PageRank. Example, if you want a specific page (keyword1.html) on your site to have high PR for "keyword 1" - implementing no follow on "keyword 1" or "keyword1+ other words" to other pages of your site will ensure that keyword1.html will have high PR and rank high on "keyword1". implementing the same for your other keyword/page combinations - you have have several high PR pages for different target keywords.
