Hello everyone, I'm new here . I've been hanging out at WPW for years and decided to venture out a little. anyways...i have a health related site that's struggling (pr wise). I get about 400+ unique visitors per day but my pr is horrible. Anyone successfully marketing health sites? i'm considering buying highly relevant links but it's mucho expensive
If your getting good traffic who cares about PR. PR is the biggest seo newbie metric there is. Keep writing good content, build up your links and you will be fine in the long run!
The only reason i care is because some of my clients do. Their SEO's want high PR sites and dont care about how much traffic i generate or the quality. Most dont even look at their stats. I have to tell them "well i sent you 34 ppl this month alone". I don't need PR but i want it ;-).....just to appease the noobs.
I would have to agree with manageyourlinks. Do not fall prey to increasing page rank otherwise your website will suffer. I repeat your website will suffer. Why? Because the time you are investing in providing good content will now be wasted to please idiots (forgive my harsh words). Instead, concentrate on what you are doing. Four Hundred Visitors a day is amazing. Do not and again I cannot stress this enough, do not fall into this trap of pleasing others. Do what you are doing and with time people will be pleased.
Good content is the link and you are on the right track. To get better PR, just do a lot of linking in the Good PR sites and you will get it during the next update (march I think). It is not instantaneous unfortunately. Takes about 1-3 months. Good Luck.
Thanks for the support. My site has been up for about 4 months now. Very little are linking to it, and i mean very little...2-3. I had to generate the others through directories, forum posts etc. We'll see what happens. cheers,
Well, four hundred visitors a day may seem like a lot to people who have unsuccessful websites, but it really isn't that much. If you have great content, you should be able to get good links / better links. If you have good content, stumbleupon should also be able to get you more exposure. /edit: for a four month old site 400 visitors a day is very good. keep up the good work and the visitor numbers will keep growing.
-- really depends on the niche. 400/day is good in some niche markets. -- Being only 4 months old you may not have been indexed long enough for google to assogn you PR. I would suggest you keep building backlinks as mentioned and you more than likely get PR on the next update. -- PM me your URL, I have a few health sites I would trade links with you on.
