Ebay Cancelled my domain Auction.

I can't believe it. Does ebay hate google so much that any mention of them and they shut you down?

2 days ago I listed one of my google domains (PayGbuy.com) on ebay. Then last night I get hit with an cancellation email and subsequently 3 more violation e-mails. Wow I must have did something very bad!!! Well maybe not. You tell me. Here is the first email:

    Dear wwwsendpaypalcom,

You recently listed the following auction-style listing:

300073989189 - Hot new Google .com Domain name 1,2,3, letter Short

The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Keyword Spamming policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

    In Title:
    Google

Keyword spamming is the practice of placing inappropriate words in searchable text to draw attention to Web content.

The Next email explains that my "title was misleading":

    Dear wwwsendpaypalcom,

TITLE: Hot new Google .com Domain name 1,2,3, letter Short

The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Misleading Title policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

    In Title:
Hot new Google .com Domain name

.....Okay granted I put 1,2,3 letter in the title but guess what everyone does that. See for yourself. Why are they picking on me? The 3rd and 4th e-mail were titled "inappropriate links, SPAMMING VIOLATION" because I put a couple of links in the listing to my DomainExperiment website which explains about my attempt to turn $100 in domains into a Million bucks and displays domains for sale including those in my listings. Well apparently thats okay because as they stated in there violation email:" Sellers can include some types of links in their listing if those links are intended to give potential buyers more detailed information about an item in their listings."

How strange considering that was exactly what the link is for. So how is it in Violation? I should also mention that this is the second time they have done this to me for a google domain name. The first time it was for a google Checkout domain. There Violation e-mail stated that I was prohibited to offer the checkout service as payment. Therefore my auction was cancelled. When I tried to contact them to explain that they had made a mistake and that I was never offering the Google Checkout service just a domain name they neverreturned any of my emails. So i'm thinking they must have a program within ebay that searches for words "checkout or google" then automatically shuts them down. Is this Corporate prejudice? I think ebay has gone a little too far besides isn't a little competition healthy?

Honestly with no offense intended, I think you need to work on making your titles reflect what you are really selling. This one did not.

Obviously using Google in your title is spammy. What do you expect ? Are you selling the domain name Google.com or what ? If not, then Google has nothing to do with your sale, except to mention the traffic it brings you, at best ...

You've posted this in various forums already. Are you looking to vent or for a
    solution to your problem?

If the latter, you got 4 options:

    1. Report each and every one of those listings for potential violation.

    2. Find out from one or so of them how they're doing it right.

    3. Follow ebay's rules next time. Ask them first before listing, if need be.

    4. Look elsewhere.

There's actually a fifth. But I thought of listing only 4 that appear pragmatic.

From what you've posted it looks like you tried to play fast and loose with the e-bay rules and got caught.

Get over it, their concerns were all legitimate.

Good excuse to get links to your website out there though right? And maybe a little e-bay bashing linkbait for your site?

I think the email was pretty apparent as to the problem. I'm not sure why you made a thread to broadcast to the world that you aren't very bright

Oh it's a reality that some people enjoy posting what they feel without giving
it lots of thought. And then they start complaining if people reply what an ass
    they are.

If you use that service then expect to be dictated to ;)

And not many folks on DP are interested anyway
    (in my opinion)

I had a PS3 domain auction kicked off for the same (stated) reason. I don't quite understand the logic of it - the domain name was obviously pertaining to PS3's and the target audience would know that.

    eBay is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Wow... Misleading titles, spammy links, tired get rich quick schemes... yeah, you're the reason Ebay sucks so much. The domain industry doesn't need a bunch of people who think they can get rich overnight with some played-out idea and a bunch of crappy domains. Thats all there is on Ebay anymore.

    Are you seriously that stupid?

First you violate like half a dozens T&C's of ebay. They come here and complain that you are not sure why they did it?

I hope they BAN morons like you to make ebay a better place. Infact they should ban you from any place for misrepresenting and pulling crap like that.

I would say mostly that the Title 'is' misleading, you put 'Google .com', people are going to think 'google.com???' which is probably intended.

Yeah, I agree, tone it down and just put some "ideas" in your description. If I did an outright search for Google on eBay.... what would I be looking for? Probably not what you offered. I'm thinking I may be looking for things relating to search engine help. Anyhow, good luck and be careful with your descriptions and key titles. You could call it a "google topics site" in the description... I reckon.

Even the title of this thread is confusing. Ebay cannot cancel a domain. They may only cancel an auction/listing, but not domain name. :D
