I have been doing paid posting work on the side for about a year now and has been a good way to put a few dollars in my pocket but the going rate has gone to the toilet lately... Most jobs are now just paying $0.05 to $0.10 a post and is just not worth doing... used to be able to get $0.20 to $0.30 a post. Just like everything else, the guys in India are willing to do it for less I guess... problem is the English is not always as good. Oh well I guess it's time to start looking for something else!
Yea that's how I used to pay for ads for my sites but I just can't make enough so I just made a word cloud site and I sell links on it I don't make as much but it's money I guess.
Forum posting is hardly a skilled job, I seriously wouldn't value it at any more than $0.10 per post, unless the posts required some sort of expertise in a specific area. It usually involves writing a couple of sentences which may mildy relate to the content of the thread or forum.
It sounds "silly and mad" to many now because that is what people are selling their services for... and yes it is not like you are getting someone to write a book but the reality is that a $0.10 rate devalues the work. As a result the posts you get for $0.10 are not that great... anyone who has hired paid posters knows all about the poor english problem. With me $0.20 gets you top quality posts...
Totally agree with that. I hate guys killing prices and providing bad quality service. They will end up degrading and saturate the market making true professionals to have more hard work promoting their good services.
I don't think it has devalued at all. Quality of posts should always be maintained and as a forum owner buying posts, you should also make sure that the posts you purchase are of good quality. As for the price per post, you can still post for 20 cents or more per post.
If you stick in there, there are always opportunities. If you manage to get a forum roaring after it used your services, there will be many others who will be willing to try you out. Cheap posting gets you a temporary rise in the amount of posts. Any posting service must be there for some time before it starts showing results. If 10 dudes come and post 10 posts each in 2 days, it won't help a lot.
Paid forum posting is like any other writing job. Depends more in the individual or company to determine fees. It's not the same pay 5 cents for a ten-word post with no sense at all, that paying 15-20 cents per quality posting over 15 words, that often involves certain degree of knowledge or expertise, not bluffing useless stuff Not bashing out, but I have heard that forumselevation is one of the worst in this area, fooling writers to get posts without actually pay to its writers, so beware, I know about three or four DP writers scammed by this "company" :O
I think it is important to remember the old adage you get what you pay for, if you want a quick slapdash job go-ahead and pay $0.05 per post but if you want a professional service from a company that actually cares about making your forms a success then you have to be prepared to pay accordingly.
That is pretty much how I approach it now... if you want $0.05 or $0.10 postings then go ahead but I for one will not be doing them! If you are willing to pay $0.20 or more for a well written post from a poster who takes pride in his work then I am your poster.
Yaa i made myself few 100 bucks doing paid posting @0.15 most of the time, but in todays world i think it requires more than 0.15 per post rate. But like anything else outsourcing is whats taking over. Thats why i had to switch to coding business instead of paid posting .
I do a small amount of paid posting at thirty cents per post, and only one gig at twenty five cents per post. I wouldn't bother doing it for any less than that.
