For many people, just the opposite is true.

as is the case for me.

like I've stated 17 times in this thread already. FF eats my memory like you would not believe.

I think I need to just shut up and give IE7 another try, based on what you've shared here ;)

I use Firefox mainly because I would be lost at times without the Web Developer extension. I do use IE occasionally though, to make sure my designs look good in both. Firefox is still my preferred though.

FireFox! (I'm obsessed with the tabs, it's perfect!!!). The only problem I have with FF is that it lags when I try to download something (IE doesn't).. but.. the tabs make up for everything!

Jarad: I do the same too (it's such a hassle, honestly wish the whole world would stick to one browser)

For me FireFox of course too !!
But ... IE is faster than FireFox on xslt client transformation used on several AJAX web 2.0 sites, because Microsoft MSXML library is faster than Firefox TransforMiix Module.

I prefer FireFox over Internet Explorer, and I also like Opera alot.

Things that annoy me about FireFox is the memory usage and the slow response times when changing tabs when there are a few open as well as FireFTP being open.

    Exactly!

I got so annoyed with memory with FF that I went back to Opera. FF will still prove useful in certain situations but everyday browsing was just driving me nuts....300MB...400MB....500MB pretty soon I was over 1GB in my system resources going what the heck????

Everything except the Microsoft site (which is made FOR ie specifically)... everything renders better in FireFox... IE7 doesn't even fully support CSS yet.

I would use IE if -

It was standard compliant (Microsoft cant cope with standards, so thats a lost cause)

I didn't get so many useless messages (eg. when I download a file, it asks me three times whether I'm sure I want to download it!!)

    It's UI was more friendly!!

I think they should combine IE6 and FF2. IE7's interface is the worst of them all (I have to use the tiny little button at the top to reload or stop).

    But, that's just my opinion,
    Alex.
