I've got a few domains I want to develop to make some extra money for college. Winner gets TWO links of their choice (must be family friendly) in my signature for a month and I'll sport your lovely avatar as well for the same 30 days. I average almost 7 posts per day. (sorry, I'm a student). Your task: Help me improve upon these ideas! subtopics.org (and subtopic.org) - I want to share information here.. almost like wikipedia but geared more towards college students searching for relevant scientific information in specific fields rather than a generalized mess of information. A forum would likely require more resources to get started than I currently have available. moviereel.org - I'm open to ideas. AppKiller.com - I've thought about turning this into a place where .dlls can be downloaded, and people can find information on filenames they suspect of being a virus, etc. I'm just not sure how to implement the idea. designflaws.org I would ideally like to turn this into some kind of website that offers insite on design flaws pertaining to engineering and design of cars, buildings, bridges, etc. or possibly screw ups in business as well... failed mergers, etc. exploretheus.com - I've had this domain for a few months, and I want to develop it into a site that has information about various us cities (similar to city-data.com) but also with additional information about tourist stops, things to see, places to go, etc. Again, I have a great plan.. just no clue on how to build on it or implement it. Lets see some ideas people. =) This contest will last no more than 7 calendar days.
You can make the second site moviereel an online movie shop . start off my posting a lot of movie review and gradually start a bussiness going. just my idea

AppKiller.com make that site the most Controversial .. u know Controversy sells these days! .. i'm suggesting something very wierd. for Ex say "Firefox have "N" number of loop holes" etc .. but watchout ! always have enough proof before publishing any such content on a website. but let me tell you. Once you have the proofs needed .. Controversies are traffic whores on the net gluck
Many very good ideas soo far, as it sets, I like both ideas equally as well so you will win one link each unless better ideas come along. Good job! Lets keep the think-tank going and blow the competition away with some great new ideas.
With three .org domains I see common trends that could be used to your advantage. Students and professionals. Education, science, and career oriented. Family friendly. This could also be a news organization reporting on events that don't get big media coverage, across many niche categories. Identify niche news channels to feed and organize by subdomains - world.subtopics.org, music.subtopics.org, science.subtopics.org, etc. Offer your own feeds and make the homepage a dead-simple step-by-step for adding niche news to a Web site (for Webmasters), or finding niche news and adding it to your reader (for readers). I also like the idea of a student peer network for sharing info, ideas, and research too, but it would take close attention and active students. A forum/discussion board would be a must. Fishing movies, I love it. Maybe folk dancing movies? Something different - maybe a community driven movie review site? An organization of movie lovers and their opinions... with monthly DVD giveaways sponsored by advertising partners! I'm not sure who your sticky readers would be for a site dedicated to flaws in engineering/design/etc... trademark attorneys and engineers maybe? Might be a tough thing to market, but I'm sure it could be done. Maybe designflaws.org would be suitable for a Web design critical review board. Peer-to-peer review, awards/validators, articles & interviews, etc. Custom script to fetch and display tourism & travel info, search results, and news for all major US locations based on subdomain. Homepage could host a directory, and phpLinkDirectory is cheap and could get the site started w/ content and categories immediately. Later on, sell links and advertising from the directory. Or a similar setup but targetting cool activities and sites in the US. Or an educational site with games & info that teach US geography. This domain actually has lots of possibilities!
