He is moving closer to #1 territory among US Presidents all-time in one category...lowest approval ratings, 28% and falling. At least he can hang his hat on that :D

Because it is 7:36pm now and his rating is 22% (NBC sources) :D
    Falling fast...

The good point for Bush: He has a target where to shot.
The bad point: He's shooting outside target...

Seriously though, it's great the president isn't concerned with his approval rating because the president's job is not to please the American public 100% of the time. You can look at every presidential term and see the approval rating is no where near 100%... Usually 50% +- depending on the situations around the world, with the economy, etc. War always brings the approval rating down.

BTW, statistics aren't accurate...if we polled the entire population, I'm sure the numbers would be different.

It's made to be a bigger deal than it actually is.

Actually, war usually brings an approval rating up, initially. It's only when it drags on with no clear victory and lives lost that it becomes an anchor around the neck of a given president's approval rating.

Statistics aren't accurate, and never can be. But then, provided sampling methodology is properly followed, we can be pretty damn sure (anywhere from 2.5-5% one way or the other) the sample represents the population well.

Initially, but the war didn't start yesterday. The longer the war, the worse the rating.

I'm not going to get into this war strategy and war dragging on...etc. Democrats want out, military families want out, this isn't new to this war (if you research this, you will see it's common for every war that has lasted as long as the war in Iraq). I haven't heard a better plan from the other side, I only hear it's the wrong plan for this current track and all this negativity never helps the situation.

Trust me, I hate to see us still there and I hate to see American soldiers die. There's no doubt that it's a sour spot right now in President Bush's term.

Sampling methodology is still skewed by the sample space it uses. Depending on the sources of the sample, you can come up with a variety of different methods and results. CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox News what have you. 1,000+ individuals is not an accurate method of the approval rating of the president when the population is over 298 Million. Enough said.

Whatever his approval rating is, the fact remains that he has achieved nothing.

I wouldn't make that generalization when it's clearly not true. There are so many positive things President Bush has done in these 2 terms. Unemployment is low, Inflation is low, the economy is growing and flourishing, We have recovered from 9/11, and so on.
