They know exactly who you are in two snaps of their fingers. They know who pays you, how much you made, where you host, and the approximage "damage" you did to their system. Good luck when they decide to shut you down.
I could car less about the spam aspect. is spam as annoying on myspace than it is with regular email. to me it's not. I get maybe 5 true spams a day or week on myspace but I get 60 spam emails a day!! to me it's 1000 times more annoying. WHAT I DO take issue with is the phishing aspect. Phishing is more of a problem on myspace than spam right now IMO. All the supposed "myspace profile tracking" for instance. I bet I have several hundred of my friends whose profiles have been hijacked and I keep getting massive amount of phishing crap I do they are still so far behind the 8-ball. another thing that was prevalent a few weeks ago...comment bombing...aka the un-deleteable comment. I emailed their "customer service" and it took them 3.7 weeks to give me a scripted response...we are aware of the issue, pleas be patient.
Maybe it's more about the bad PR the spammers will get than the 20 million - look under the hood in the corporate connections and there are probably other motivations behind the lawsuit. It doesn't matter if they win or not- it's a slap down.
You coudn't figure out how to delete the 'un-deleteable' comments? all it did was put a box around the delete link, if you typed in the link, it would delete it.
well sure, I figured it out but what about the other 24M (actual users) I bet 95% of them are clueless!
Yeah your right, I would bet more along the line of 99% of the people were clueless to removing that.
I won't lie to you, it took me a little while to track down the answer....I am < clueless when it comes to code and stuff. but yeah, I bet you are right, 99.4%
you're not guilty of spamming in myspace, are you? Well, I'm just thankful I haven't entered myspace yet. I've always had hesitations in advertising there. I'll need more time to make a plan now that there's this new development.
Word on the street is, scott made up the list of ad networks in vegas, and only his company CPA-Empire is the only one actually being sued.
Wait till you get a little older, your making a bigger deal out of a small deal. What about telemarketing? Is this not spam? Wait till you own a home and you start getting hit with 3-4 mortgage company phone calls a die trying to get you to refinance, etc. My telephone actually makes a noise and I have to get up to see who it is, yet telemarketing is completely legal? Which one is worse? I'd take your myspace spam over my telephone spam.
I concur, telemarketing is evil. *MSS --> one click --> delete somebody calls you on the phone 1) wake up from your siesta 2) get off the couch 3) look and see who it is 4) answer 5) listen to spiel 6) say no 7) say no again 8) repeat 6,7 9) hang up
Ouch for the scammers, I doubt myspace will get any money out of this but they do have a lot of evidence and a strong appeal
That is a lame defense. Because people waste or time and resources in other areas it is okay to just bend over and take it? That is dumb. Spamming is lame. There is no real way to get around it. If you spam, you are lame, because, as we already know, spamming is lame. Doesn't matter if it is e-mail, regular mail, via phone, fax or smoke signal.
i have the solution : i only answer my cellphone. it's just when i need to call abroad that i use the fixed line (free phone call long live internet based phones ) email is a different shit, more annoying to me
hey aeiouy i'll go to bed smiling, thanks by the way i read your posts on the above linked forum, congrats for hitting the nail on the head. what kind of forum is that, a spammer forum? seems like most of the guys on that thread were in favor of spamming
